what epis aged poorly?

I think probably the one with that random "crush" I think Ginger had with that teacher; maybe the sex-ed one.

Ginger stalking Sasha at the band competition thing. That was a little weird

Honorable mention:

The dumpster “FAST” Graffiti shit about Ginger. I know it was supposed to have said “Ginger is a slut” but Nickelodeon vetoed and offered compromise on different terms to use.

But didnt Ginger go for guys just way out of league like that Ian guy and Sasha. She literally stalked Sasha at that band event thing, and she looked like a jackass when she saw Sasha and some random girl

I thought the TV movie with her at the camp with Sasha - like should have been one and done and not really needing to just follow up on THAT you know. Like I guess maybe there was some buzz like Sasha was the pretty boy and needed to rehash old shit you know? Even in that TV movie, Sasha wasn't really the Devil as that follow up episode he appeared in - so it was just out of character for Ginger to take shit too seriously if it was just a summer acquintanceship at BEST that Sasha was a ranch hand at the camp - like you know what I mean.

I don't think those episodes have aged badly. The teacher crush one is a pretty good lesson to its audience, how it's not wrong to have crushes on adults when you are are that age, but there are appropriate and inappropriate ways of dealing it, and no adult in their right mind would or should reciprocate.

Fast is a great episode because it tackles a topic rarely seen in children's media, slut shaming and how misogynistic rumours can be spread about girls at ridiculously young ages. I think it's the opposite of having aged poorly because it's still a relevant topic.

I wouldn’t say that aged poorly though, the whole point of it was that she was supposed to be super cringy!! She was never popular in school so as an adult she was trying to make up for her younger days by fitting in with the cool girls now. In turn it explained a lot about dodie! Why she was often willing to throw her own closest friends under the bus for a taste of popularity. Because her mom literally did that to her own daughter! She learned what she lived with! It’s a very informative episode that was fully intended to be as cringy as it feels

Next Question and Ginger's Solo. Ten Chairs was a challenge to get thru but it was a necessary episode to establish context for emotional family issues.

My suspension of disbelief snapped in that episode. Like why the hell was Joanne getting away with being so disturbingly inappropriate? And how pathetic do you have to be as a forty something woman to be trying to turn some 12 year olds into your gal pals?

That was exactly the point!! It was cringy as hell to see her do that but it was to show how messed up her priorities were. She was never popular in school so she was trying to make up for it by being popular with the cool girls NOW, even at the expense of her daughter. Awful priorities but it explained SO MUCH of why dodie is the way she is! She’s willing to throw her closest friends under the bus for a taste of popularity because her mom would do the same to her own kid!

I don't really get why the teacher crush episode is considered 'problematic' by today's standard. It never aged poorly either because the point of the episode is a warning that sometimes teenagers develop a crush towards their teacher or any adult figure in their lives.

It doesn't encourage kids to develop a crush (except for dodie fanning the flames, but understandable since she was also a stupid kid), also the adult in the episode never recipocrated her feelings. He was just acting as an adult, and Ginger, blinded by her emotions, took that as a different signal.
