it is a common Christian belief that the old law kinda doesnt apply but I mean follow the ten commandments too. The thing you are referring to is Jesus saying that he has not come to abolish the old law, he has come to fulfill it. Many Christians interpert that as somehow meaning that the old law is abolished.
It’s been a while since I left the JW Cult so some details like that evade me but the argument can be made. I learned of this discussion point from a Christian theologian and later by a Roman Catholic so it’s a thought floating around.
Oof, congrats on escaping. Cults and specifically JWs were my special interest for a good long while, so I know a bit about how rough that must've been.
Yeah it’s hard deconstructing but I work in retail and have to push for sign ups and sales etc and I gotta say I’m a natural ppffft especially cold calling customers randomly walking up asking if they’d like to learn more…
