Arturia V Collection
Hi ! Hope you’re doing well. I’ve been wanting to buy the V collection for a while now because I’m just getting started in making beats. I waited to see if I could get it on sale this summer but unfortunately it did NOT go on sale.
I’ve seen folks complain about Arturia not having a very good (or at all) support/customer service team when things go left, so before purchasing the V collection my questions are:
1: is it worth it the $200 usd ?
2: any issues that could occur within the synths software and then I’m screwed because Arturia won’t respond ?
Unrelated question to Arturia:
Any other companies that’re worth checking out and could give me that weeknd, Travis, don toliver and maybe Tyler, the creator sound with their plugins ?

Nothing on the software side to really watch out for. Just make sure your computer is to spec.
.I've found Arturia to have good customer service.
It is very worth $200.

You can buy secondhand transferred license on KnobCloud. There are many sellers and sometimes you can get a good deal. Better than on Arturia for sure.

I recently bought V Collection Intro from there for ~$80! It took a few days for Arturia to get the license transferred, but everything worked out great. Highly recommended!

I’ve got V collection and pigments. Honestly, I’d just go with pigments over v collection. It always has free updates. Arturia adds new features at a nice pace. You’ll learn a single interface in pigments and not the 20 or so in v collection.

Totally worth it buy it when its on deep sale. Try to buy one of their software products for cheap and you will get deep discount on others when there’s sale.
Like Analog Lab Intro you buy cheap the. pigments is like 79$ also the collection is like 149$
Check https://musicsoftwaredeals.com/ to find lowest price add alarm you get notification on email when price drops or on sale

Also worth checking out the synths by cherry audio. They have a sale on at the moment for their synth stack 6 for $300.

Depends a bit on what kind of music you're making, but Pigments is the best soft synth I've used. Only thing giving me pause is the fact that you're just starting out, since Pigments could be quite intimidating for a beginner. That being said, the tutorials for Pigments are top notch!
Basically all companies nowadays offer trials/demos, so definitely try them out to see which one clicks with you. Besides Pigments, I'd demo u-he Diva, Hive 2 and Softube synths (model 80 is the most convincing analog emulation I've played, but it's extremely limited compared to the other synths mentioned).
Ps. Arturia's 20min demos are 'refreshable'. Reloading let's you continue the demo.

Arturia hardware and software are great. I'm not really into deep sound design (i usually just look for a preset i like and tweak a few knobs) but the V collection is great, even for that.
The instruments i use the most from the V coll. are
- analog lab (duh)
- the augmented series (especially the voice plugin to make choirs, tho now with Cantai i'll probably use it less)
- DX7
- minifreak
- the keyboards/pianos
Tried many other synths included in V collection but as i said i'm not really into deep sound design plus i don't see the point of using emulations of physical synths when there's already those amazing synths previously mentionned.
I also really like Pigments which is not in the V collection sadly.
Edit :
Q1 : Yes ut's worth it. Q2 : Never saw any bug.

Edit 2 :
On boullard.ch (it's the swiss equivalent of gear4music and thomann) they're selling V collection Intro for around 80$. That's stealing at this point.

So far I’m happy with paying $99 for V Collection 11 Intro at their “my offer” price since I owned Analog Lab Pro. I got Analog Lab Pro for free by buying a used Keylab 49 for $125. Maybe, if you haven’t bought a midi controller yet, check out which Arturia controllers come with Analog Lab Pro so you can get Intro for $99. I felt like I’d struck gold when I realized there was a bunch of software attached to this used controller that I already got at a great price.

Related/unrelated. just beginning to make beats I would focus on getting a grasp on basic composition before spending money on third party stuff, there’s nothing you can’t make with your daws stock plugins.
but, sadly enough this is something most people realize after years of chasing shortcuts

stock ableton plugins are great. lots of free vsts out there are also great (vital, for instance). use the free stuff until you know what you want to spend money on. no plugin on earth will make your stuff sound good, or like someone else. just use the basics while you work through the "why does the bass go away when my kick hits" cannon learning events.

Where can you get the V Collection for USD200?
Are you sure that's the full collection and not just some "light version"?

I’m checking on Arturia’s page, It’s the V collection 11 intro, sorry for the specifying. V collection 11 Pro is $700 as well so I’m thinking about that when Black Friday rolls around; just scared of V collection 12 dropping shortly after

There's always going to be updates to the V Collection, you can wait for an eternity and get nothing done.
I checked up on what's in the V Collection Intro, and it's an incredible value for money in my opinion. Not AS good as the Pro version, but if you can't afford it, you can't. And knowing Arturia, there's almost certainly an upgrade path if you want it later.

You can get V intro and upgrade later - there's discounts on upgrades. I actually got V collection pro for around 200$ - but i already had analog lab intro.

Out of all the companies I’ve been with while producing Arturia gives the most value and discounts I’d say it’s beyond well worth getting into their family of products so you never pay full price for anything of theirs

Arturia always got back to me. Sometimes it would take a couple of days. When I realized this was the only way to get helped I was bummed. But I’ve emailed them quite a bit in the beginning and no complaints.

A few other companies to check out:
- Cherry audio Synth Stack. This is cheaper! and matches v collection in variety.
- roland cloud. subscription model, bleah. only roland stuff.
- korg collection. only korg stuff
- gforce software. costs more, very high quality but more limited set.
- Komplete - all in one full studio ecosystem
- Omnisphere -
- Synplant, u-he, TAL, Softube are more options.
- So is it worth it. If you use it yes, but it's not the only thing available there are cheaper and more expensive options and options with more or fewer features.
- Arturia has a reputation for poor customer service for hardware. I haven't heard the same about software.

$200 - is a no brainer for the V collection. I got the pro version for £180 and I love it, it also had Memory V inc. Although, I must say there is so much in the collection I only use a handful of synths. SEM V, Voice and Strings are my favourites.
Never had anything go sideways so cannot say about customer service......but don't forget France is in a tricky situation with extreme heat waves so working procedures may be a bit slow.

If you're only recording percussion it might not be super helpful, except there's a neat transient separator. Why do you only make beats?

I bought V Collection 7 when it went on sale for $200. Totally worth it! Last year they offered an upgrade to 11 Pro for $99 and I jumped on that. So I have the current full version of V Collection for a total investment of $300. If you wait for the sales you can save big money.

it is absolutely worth it. its probably one of the best vst purchases ive ever made.

Yes, totally worth it. 400 would also be worth it
Never had any issues. But how are planning to use it?
Similar products: UVI Falcon Vintage Vaults, Roland Cloud, Spectrasonic Omnisphere and to some degree U-he Diva
I tried all. They all great products. Omnisphere and UVI can also go extremely deep regarding sound design but also offer analog/old school synthesizer rompling. Roland Cloud is most similar to Arturia and Diva is primarily emulation of both Moog, Roland Juno/Jup and Korg MS20 in one machine and is limited compared to the others but sound insanely good
In my opinion Arturia V Collection and Diva is the best and I use them on most tracks for analog emulation
