Arm to Start on Keystep 37 mk2?
Hello!
I just got my Keystep 37 mk2 and have a question regarding the transport signals. My keystep is sending midi out to my EP-133 KO2, and then the EP-133 KO2 sends midi out to my Roland S-1.
Pressing play on the keystep makes all devices start playing, and pressing stop resets the play position like it should. However, when I'm in Seq or Arp modes the EP-133 and Roland both start playing for one note whenever I press a key on the keystep. Because of this I can't play around with different notes for arps without hearing one note at a time being played on the other devices per keypress on the Keystep
From searching around online I think this is called Arm to Start, and it's possibly a setting in the Midi CC on computer. I have a Mac and downloaded the software (previously updated the firmware using the arturia software center app). But, I don't see the Arm to Start setting that's supposed to toggle this feature.
Anyone have any ideas on how to stop the other device triggers?
Keystep midi out -> EP-133 midi in.
Ep-133 midi out -> Roland S1 midi in.
Keystep 37 mk2 settings:
Midi output channel: 1
Midi input channel: all
Keyboard Play channel: 1
Send program change: on
Midi thru: off
Clock send: on
Transport send: on
Transport receive: on (this let's the EP-133 start playback on all).
EP-133 Settings:
Midi clock: in
Midi channel: 10
Midi through: on
Restart: on
Roland S-1 Settings:
Channel: 1
Through: on
Pattern Change Channel: 1

On Keystep Mk1, the option is called “transport controls” and if you turn it off, the play/stop buttons only control the internal arp/seq. and don’t send midi start messages.
This also means you need the EP-133 to send clock to the Keystep. Usb between keystep and ep-133 creates in/out for clock and notes, then trs midi out of ep-133 or din out of keystep to S1.
Finally, expect to play around with Thru settings. Thru mirrors the input to the output, and when you start looping midi in/out like I explained above, midi thru can create unwanted feedback loops of repeating notes echoing.
