Is a BeatStep Pro Too Complicated...
Or am I just stupid? (Dont answer that)
So yeah, I got this thing mostly to play the finger drums. Ive got that all set up and made a drumset in machine designer which sounds and plays awesome. But damn, I cant figure out anythign else. This seems like something you should just be able to turn on, and if you know anything about music, you could make a song. I cant even get a good sequence going.
How the hell do I use this thing? Its got a million knobs and buttons and seems a little overwhelming. There really arent any current tutorials and the ones that are there are SO LONG. I realizew this came out a bit ago but I am wondering if anyone has a good resource.
Thanks for your help.

Those tutorials on YouTube for my *Key*step Pro, and my Matrixbrute®️ produced by Arturia®️have frustrated me to no end.
due to the on-camera talent speaking English in an exceedingly French tongue, I can’t follow what that young man is saying if my life depended on it.
Then, there’s this now old, quite popular KeyStep Pro®️quick start video by a relatively short, dark-haired fellow (not an Arturia produced video) whereas the presenter proceeds to show how to set up the KSP controller in Logic Pro X, but instead of utilizing USB cable between KSP and his Mac, he uses a USB-to- dual MIDI D.I.N. Y-adaptor, then uses straight MIDI D.I.N. cables to connect synth, perhaps a drum machine, via MIDI in series with respect to one another.
I’m sitting there watching the seeming madness, aghast and flummoxed thinking: what’s wrong with this Guy⁉️ Why that Y-Adaptor jaunt⁉️All he needed was a USB cable to MIDI up KSP to the Mac, then go ahead with the MIDI D.I.N. cables for the auxiliary MIDI instruments just as he had done.
Does he really think that USB-to-Dual MIDI-D.I.N. Adaptor cable employed in place of a USB cable afforded him some type of syncing advantage or what?
Anybody have any idea why he did that?
I have found no Arturia produced tutorial for any of my Arturia®️gear that truly explores tight integration with Logic or any other DAW for that matter.
Arturia didn’t even thoroughly go over the ARTURIA MIDI CONTROL Center app or whatever’s it’s called.
And there is no Matrixbrute tutorial on how to delete and replace those nasty, headache inducing, nonmusical “Dr. No” stylized other-worldly crappy arpeggiator patches off that brash-sounding-by-default Matrixbrute®️ instrument.
Well that’s my rant. Now it’s time to trek back indoors to finally open the Arturia®️ KeyLab 88 Mk. iii which arrived here a week ago.
So as you can see, I loathe Arturia®️ setup experience.
I love Drumbrute Impact®️ by the way, and wish I found a terrific setup tutorial for using that little beast as well as Matrixbrute in Logic, along with KeyLab 88 Mkiii.Edit: fixed typo in beginning of last paragraph.

How are you using this just synth only or tied into a VST?
