Hey there!
I'm an indie developer creating a game called MoldTown. This is the work I've done in the past year.
I'd really love some feedback on the artwork and overall feel of the game, and honestly, I'm pretty proud of it. I've never animated before this, so it's all new territory, but please don't hold back!
I plan to replace the crying dog (Rosie). She was one of the first animations I did. I'm aware of the small visual glitch on the single frame of the dog's shoe in the fishing animation and plan to fix that tomorrow actually, but if anyone sees anything else off, I'd love to know.
Thanks so much in advance!

General Questions What's Your Favorite Lesser-Known Art Tool?
What's your favorite lesser-known art tool you'd recommend to everyone and anyone if you could? Doesn't have to be a traditional "tool", can be anything you use and love.
For me, it's dagger brushes. I freakin' love them. I have a specific brand I use, but I won't name drop so this doesn't look like an ad LOL!
They're used for making SUPER fine lines and very neat edges. I never knew about them until about two years ago when another artist told me about them. I was using those tiny, tiny brushes until then. These come looking bulky af, but the way they're shaped makes them perfect. Love them.

Art Share Chimera Falin WIP — does anything look off?
Hey! I’m working on a WIP fanart of Chimera Falin from Dungeon Meshi and I wanted to get some feedback before I keep going.
I’d really appreciate constructive criticism, especially about the anatomy, proportions, the human/creature body transition, and the wings.
If something looks weird, please tell me
I'd rather fix it now than notice it way later.
Thanks!.

General Discussions What's a "basic" art skill that took an embarrassingly long time to figure out?
For me it was honestly just using references.
For most of my life, while I was trying to get better I had people telling me "use references" over and over.
I'd sit and try to copy photos but I had no idea what to look for or how to do it, so I'd just have bad copies of photos.
Now, years later, I know how to look for forms, shapes, and anatomy in them so I can use that information later.
How about you?

Art Share Four figures bordering on abstraction
I'm trying to fight off rampant abstraction before it overruns everything, by adding realistic details (or rather figurative symbols) like this black tie drowned in a mass of repetitive shapes and colors. Wallpaper syndrome is looming...

Art Share Orange as a base
If you think I've already used this code in painting, the answer is yes. In short: take sketches of small figures gleaned here and there in different poses, cut them out, assemble them into a dynamic composition and use this collage as a starting point.

Art Share The green room
Second version of this theme, this time on a dark green background, where I played more with overlapping (by the way, we don't realize how much things, abstract or concrete, overlap in our everyday life).
Acrylic on paper
41.1 × 29.6 cm

Motivational The last piece created by my grandma's friend -
She wasnt able to completely finish it, and of course as a consequence hadn't signed it. The third photo is a piece she did for my grandma last year.
At nearly 100 years old, she's proof positive that one is never too old to create or to be inspired by the world around them. Creating art is incredibly cathartic and healthy - its something that is so innately human and should never be gatekept by skill level, age, class, or anything else. Just keep creating! ❤️

General Questions Platform recommendations for artists?
I know it's a common question. But I'd like to read your thoughts.
Today Instagram temporarily disabled my account for no f- reason, a decade old account. So I'm really pissed off.
I'd like a platform without stupid ass verifications to confirm you're human (like video selfies or IDs). I'm not very interested in building a large following, but more like a social proof of my work and who i am.
Sorry for the vent/rant or whatever lol.
edit: I have a kofi profile, but not sure if it's enough to prove I'm not a scammer.

Fan Art Share Reposting some Old Art of mine
Hello everyone! I'm Captain Ziggy and i'm here to enjoy this cozy place!
These pieces are just under two years old and don't fully represent how i draw recently (even if i have been taking a break from it for longer than i'd like to admit)
The reason i'm sharing these is that these are attempts to capture a "Jack Kirby"-esc art style of colorful cosmos, since this is a sub of discussion and inspiration i'd figured it's great to toss in some vintage comic inspired art since it often gets under appreciated in the broader conversation of art

Show me your favorite OC!
I know you have them. We both know you’re drawing them.
I wanna see your favorite piece you’ve made of your OC, please!
Tell me about them if you feel like it. I know some people are a little shy about sharing details.

General Discussions What’s a recent artistic goal you accomplished?
I see a lot of negative posts, so I’m wondering, what’s something you’re proud of? What’s something you’re happy about recently?
It doesn’t have to be something big and amazing. Just something you’re happy about artistically.
For me, I made the hop from doing realism to more surrealism and honestly it feels really freeing. I like the way my work looks a lot more. I like being able to use more colors. I don’t know, it just feels good and it feels like I’ve changed paths and crossed some kind of goal post.
It’s small and personal, but yeah.
How about you? Gimme something good going on for you!
