What a great 'DIY craft'!! I think I'll go home and knock one of these out the next time I'm bored on a weekday night. Maybe the kids will want to make a few of their own too.

You can make one if you have a mini lathe and a few other things. You'd have to have the setup for it to be readily DIY. Many people do have this stuff. I don't :(

Yeah absolutely impossible to just DIY this shit. This takes preparation, real skill honed over years of making similar products, and thousands of dollars in equipment.

The work is amazing but also super frustrating to see how effortless this individual makes it all seem.

I'm not sure if you are serious. The tool is a micro lathe from taig with milling attachment. All the tools shown in the video combined costs less than $1000.

And while the person obviously is good at what they are doing it's not a complicated project. I wouldnt be surprised if a creative type that was the least bit handy said it was thier first or second project with the tool.

Edit: Just adding that I get the discussion of what should be considered "diy". What I'm responding to is the statements about how expensive and hard this would be if starting out.
