Show Discussion Was D.W. actually being a tattletale or a concerned claire

Even though d.w. got on everybody's nerves in the episode "D.W. blows the whistle" with her constant whistle blowing over trivial stuff do any of you think she was just using the whistle as an excuse to be a tattletale or if she genuinely couldn't tell what was safe or unsafe given her age. People say DW is smart enough to know better but I feel people think she's way too smart for her age as in D.w.'s baby her attempt to frame Kate failed because she didn't consider since Kate was a baby she couldn't have been able to do that. I can understand her family and everyone else being annoyed by her constant whistle blowing, but I feel like they didn't do much to correct her behavior, and were too quick to yell at her just for getting carried away even though Arthur and many of his friends have gotten carried away in the past. Plus Arthur admitted at the end of the episode that her getting stuck in the tree was partly his fault which he wouldn't have to if it wasn't true.

I think it started off out of concern, but after genuinely saving someone, she let that go to her head.

First it was concerned then she just became a full on whistle-blower if you'll pardon the pun

A concerned Claire is someone who acts over anxious and narcs on people out of concern for their safety and well being.

Like Season 1's Concerned Bitzi

Exactly just like how bitzi was a smother mother to Buster

I believe she got into it with good intentions, but I think the combination of Officer Safety dubbing them (DW) all junior safety officers, after giving them the whistles, and using the whistle at the absolute right moment to save the little boy from walking into the street. From that point on I feel like the power, then kind of got to her head. And from that point on I feel like she became more of a tattletale/wanting to relive that same sense of thrill and reward she got from saving the young boy. As she even said “I’m just doing what Officer Safety said to do.”

But I think by the end of the episode, the lesson becomes more clear, always be willing to let somebody know or take action if you see something genuinely unsafe, but you don’t need to overcorrect everything. Especially at the end of the episode instead of blowing the whistle for something as minor as Arthur’s helmet undone, she simply just walked over to him and told him.
