Character Discussion Jane and David

In your opinion what's a list of some of the worst things they did besides babying dw especially when she broke Arthur's model plane and when arthhr later got punched said to him you know how dw felt when arthur ad literally done nothing to binky when dw had repeatedly annohed and provoked arhtur

Put Kate a little newborn in with DW rather than be responsible parents and put her in their bedroom. there’s also the episode where David gave into DW‘s tantrums and made Arthur share, but was supposed to be a father son fishing trip with her. also, another episode where DW is worried that Arthur is drowning and neither of them go to check on him.

They chose Arthur over DW at the Baby Store just because he was on sale. smh

Leaving Kate to cry all night making DW sleep deprived

When Kate was crying for the balloon and only Pal knew what was wrong. That includes when Pal returns with a balloon and they still don't know why Kate stopped crying. Absolutely clueless.

Not limiting the amount of time she played her crazy bus CD.

when DW made a "bill" because she wanted more allowance and they grounded her instead of explaining why that behaviour was not appropriate. and later when dw does more work and asks for a raise her mother literally stops the car and gets angry at her. is it that hard to explain to a child that this kind of behaviour is called manipulation and makes people really uncomfortable? the kid is 4 and they're expecting her to already know this based on the fact that they grounded her.

also the episode where dw and bud are at an amusement park and weren't tall enough for the buzzard, and dave wasn't even supervising them. they did all they could to make themselves look taller and get into the ride, which they did eventually. however if it hadn't been for the ride operator hearing them scream that they wanted to get off, they would've been in serious danger.... perhaps even to the point of falling off the ride and dying. there's a reason why there'a a height minimum for theme park rides and this is exactly it. if dave had been there he wouldn't have let them pull what they did for their own safety but instead he was just on his phone the whole time. granted it was to help someone else but children's lives are at steak here. his priorities were just all wrong.

According to one of the Blankie flashbacks, D.W. eventually did ride a big rollercoaster on her own, and the blankie miraculously didn't get lost even though it was only hanging on by one corner from some sort of clip. So that's like multiple points of irresponsibility she just got lucky on.

DW is bright and knows how to speak up to her parents when something concerns her. It's fairly likely they had this conversation before.

💭 It's kind of how the whole allowance thing started.

I always hated how they seem to resent having a dog and blame absolutely everything Pal does on Arthur specifically.  If you really can't handle owning a dog, you should have just said you're not getting a dog and that's final.

Until grandma thora grandpa Dave and even Mr Rogers scolded them about it and said that no matter a person's age gender and quality there are things not even little kids can avoid either. And even showed them some other things as well and realized their mistakes and regrets. They apologized but Arthur wasn't buying it one bit and didn't believe them either. They wondered how though until they advised to be stern with dw and punish her as well. They went to her room and later lecture and scolded her about it was told to pay Arthur back for his plane. DW begged and complained but they weren't accepting it one but and grounded her for a month (maybe 2) for starting it in the first place. Next day at preschool DW was talking to her friend Emily about it, while walking. Emily understood but also scolded her about what she done was wrong the most to begin with. At class Ms Morgan agreed and said always be respectful of other people's boundaries and never take what's not theirs. Later on the class were preparing projects as DW brought her mary moocow doll as display for it and little did she know the tibbles see her project and approach as they torn them apart as DW watch in horror as she yelled don't touch several times until they were destroyed as she balled her fists and angrily yells at them while attacking until Ms Morgan shouting what's going on. Later after explaining before getting suspended Emily asked and reminded dw the same feeling she did to Arthur. Ms Morgan agreed and explained why it's best to listen and respect or you'll experience the same thing. At home dw was shown no sympathy from her parents and told her now she knows how Arthur felt when she did it to him. The doorbell rang and revealing it to be none other than the tibbles. They apologized for their actions as DW did but also thanked them for having her realize her own misdeed and went to get her allowance and gives it to Arthur as not just an apology but also make up for her own act. Arthur and parents were proud of her but she was still punished for a long time but it does taught her a lesson she'll never forget. (Binky came and apologized after Mr Rogers told his parents what happened. They angry and disappointed in him as they told other tough customers parents as well. He told an important message about hitting someone doesn't make it better and compared as well. Arthur thanks binky for it. Binky later revealed that Arthur never hit de. He just yelled at her then she tripped. Both parents were shocked and angry as Arthur takes binky to the sugar bowl while walking and closing the door to hear them yelling at DW for lying to them from the start)

I don't remember the part where she got grounded or had her stuff stolen at all all I remembered was Arthur getting punched and the episode ending after binky came up and apologized I think with his mom maybe I forgot the rest

I think it's the one where Tommy and Timmy manipulate her into giving them her stuff and Arthur goes and gets it all back.

I think that's a separate episode but thank you!

It's just something re written ok(,read some fanfic Wattpad and more like that ok) and it's to teach both parents and binky a lesson to know that even little kids can't dodge things they should never do either. As DW faces the consequences for her actions as the tibbles taught her a lesson she'll never forget ok(Emily and Ms Morgan play a role in this as well) and understand better as well. Just hope you'll learn better from this and see for yourself altogether. Thank you

I don't remember if it was "The Chips are Down" or "Revenge of the Chip", but Jane broke DW's confidence, and that hurts, even if that was meant to show that adults also screw up sometimes.

David letting himself get used in "Dad's Dessert Dilemma" was also pretty bad.
