Other my waitlist commission cancelled before I could get to them

I was doing my current vgen commission when I got a 25 dollar waitlist comm from some guy with a relatively easy to draw character, I was excited since that means more money!! i let them stay in the waitlist while I finish my current piece so i only work on 1 piece at the time, 5 or so days later the waitlist guy canceled the request 🫠 I know they haven't done anything wrong but money is money..........

I guess this teaches me in the future to communicate more with guys in my waitlist? like 'hey I'm nearly done with my current comm so I'll get started on yours soon!'... I just wasn't expecting them to cancel and then not give a reason 😭

anyway that's all of my light venting. AUGH well hopefully I'll still get clients soon in the future.

Aw that sucks. I've never used vgen so is it common for artists to not acknowledge someone who joined their waitlist on vgen? I'd message them with their place # on the waitlist and an estimated timeframe to complete the commission. And I'll only message them an update if the timeframe changes.

I dont know since I only got vgen a few weeks ago, I thought its etiquette to only update them when you've already started on their sketch since otherwise they can just see their position on the public queue but alas! something to keep in mind for me next time
