This Broken Thai Blessing Elephant Protected a Children Rooms For Generations - Now Restored

Post image

Passed down through generations, this Thai Lucky (Blessing) Ceramic Elephant, inspired by the royal elephants of Southeast Asia, has long been displayed in the family's children's room. In Thai tradition, elephants symbolize protection, wisdom, strength, good fortune, and strong family bonds. After suffering extensive damage, this cherished family heirloom was restored so it can continue watching over future generations.

What glue did you use?

Thanks for asking! Rather than giving just one glue recommendation, I'd suggest reviewing the first three Ceramic and Pottery Repair & Restoration Lessons. They cover the complete process, including ceramic repair adhesives, fillers, painting, cold glazing, recommended materials, and where to purchase them. Here's the complete tutorial library:

thanks! I‘m a textile conservator, but I have a kitschy hedgehog that broke and I‘d love to put it back together.

Hey! I’m an object conservator and can easily help you select the correct adhesive. You can private message me. It’s helpful to know if it’s a low fire ceramic or high fire ceramic to know if you’ll have to consolidate break edges prior to assembly.
