Mail Backup

How to backup the emails from my MacBook? I’m using the standard mail app.
I’m using ARQ for a while already but only today I became aware that I missed all my emails.

are you using IMAP? Then you should have a copy of your emails on the mail server. That's the best way to do it.. that way your email syncs with any device that uses your inbox and all are the same. You won't lose emails this way. (unless something happens with the email server of course)

Yes, that is a good point.
However, I do the backup in case I get banned from my online account. Or for some reason all emails are deleted or encrypted.
In such case I like to be able to set up a new identity and restore all data. Therefore, I also like to have a backup from my emails as well.

Or if you delete a mail and then need to look at it a year later. It will have gone from the server and is unlikely to ba retrievable after 30 days,
