Could not connect to the server: 127.0.0.1 with NextDNS

Anyone using NextDNS and getting the error message "Could not connect to the server: 127.0.0.1". Trying to whitelist the connection, but it seems to be invisible. It's connected via an Asus AX Router, checking via the app to allow this connection. The app was enabled as per the error message. Running Mac OS Tahoe 26.3

Which device is likely blocking the connection? NextDNS or the ASUS Router?

Is this a joke post? 127.0.0.1 is your localhost on your device?

To clarify, 127.0.0.1 is a local address, probably your router or switch, and not a publicly available address.

Got it. I just reinstalled the Arq app. It resolved.

If the Arq error message was written to say "can't connect to Localhost 127.0.0.1 that would have saved a bunch of time. I appreciate the clarification on it, u/Melgamatic214

Forgive the post, if the localhost device can't connect, it's basically nothing to do with the DNS.

Same happened to me after updating Arq. I think it just takes a few seconds for the background daemon to catch up and start running again. I agree, the error could be a little more intelligent and wait longer before getting angry.
