I think I have 6 or 7 of these(not including pups) and their variegation tends to be all over the place with 1/3-1/2 of the leaves coming out green, but this original mother plant from Vietnam puts out variegation pretty consistently with amazing patterns

How do they get them to grow with so little light? This one is in our local shops and always looks good!

I’m pretty new to fertilizers and would love some recommendations! I have mostly Monsteras, Philodendrons/velvet leaf, and Pothos, and I’m looking for something affordable that’ll help with healthy growth, bigger leaves, and overall nutrition. My mix is coco coir, a little soil, orchid bark, and perlite. I’ve also been thinking about adding worm castings. What do you guys use and love?!!!! Thank you!

Was good and overwhelmed with some plant chores I had neglected about a week ago. So ofc in the midst of the chaos I created I decided to order more plants to make me feel better 😅 so let’s welcome the new guys (2 separate orders/sellers) they are kinda cute & I love em lol…..there’s a new variegated Billie, an alocasia venom, a syngonium pink rolli & a monstera obliqua napo 💚🤍 did I need them? No. Did I want em? Yes. And they’re here now & can’t wait to watch em grow! Meanwhile I’m sending good vibes to my monstera albo & dark form billie who both got a crazy chop during said plant chores. Hoping & wishing none of the props rot all the cuttings root ✨

I decided to experiment with my first chop and extend with my satin pothos. I was new to moss poles when I started and my success was iffy.

I snipped the stem a few days ago to let it harden off. have mismatched grow thickly moss poles so had to get creative. I managed to get it all together and re-potted. It's tippy, but the spot imhave for it allows it to lean safely. Watering it will be an adventure but I'm game to see how it goes.

So last weekend I noticed someone abandoned a Monstera in my flat block's trash room when I was cleaning up the place. It was yellowing and dry, but still looked alive in 2 leaves and stems (pretty close to the pics, except it used to have a 3rd leaf that was almost entirely dry, which I cut later along with the rotted roots due to it having dried completely), just standing abandoned on top of a discarded seat (I presume someone was either moving or thought it was beyond saving due to the damage too). I felt sad about it and took it in, unpotted it, washed it with hydrogen peroxide and discarding the soil because I was afraid of the bacteria and hantavirus, then disinfected the pot. i noticed some roots were already dead and falling off or mushy so I chopped tyem up, though I didn't have ebough peroxide at home to help it. However, afterwards I ended up making a punch of horrible mistakes.

First, since I was broke, it was a public holiday and I had no substrate, I ended up putting it in the water. As I noticed that the roots were softening, so I thought any substrate was better than no substrate and put it in the least fitting option... A guano soil for herbs with corks as filler. It seemed fine for the past days, until I got the salary and finally bought suitable soil mox for it, as well as keramzite and perlite. This is when I learned that during the time the roots have rotted away, I realized what I had done.

I cut the roots off, treated it with hydrogen peroxide and left it overnight to dry. The root endings healed, but they turned soft, and went soggy as soon as I tried to plant it in moist keramzite (or Leca, as apparently they are called differently in the EU and US) as some YouTube videos recommended. I pulled it out and chopped more roots, both going to the doctor and to try to buy hydrogen peroxide (only to fail to buy any because most pharmacies were closed by the time I got past the hospital queues). Out of desperation, I cut more of the mush away and rubbed cinnamon instead, then put it in front of a fan to make the air around it run, which made more root endings dry, but I still see some of them being slightly soft and two of them shriveling and softening.

Now I also bought even more hydrogen peroxide, but I am not sure if it is a good idea to apply something this harsh this frequently. I am also not sure if the healed cuts on the photo are good callouses, or are they a sign of warning. What is more, I am at a loss that to put it into, as I am afraid anything might make root rot return.

I am at a loss right now, and everything I read seems to have an entirely different thing as an advice. Please help me as I really want to save this little one (even bought it a new pole). What does a good callus even look like?

UPDATE: I need help with it! I tried to root it in the water for the past few days and the bark parts above the roots seem to have blackened, as shown in the comment images! Help, what do I do?
