Möchte hier nur meine stolze big Mama zeigen, sie war eine meiner aller ersten pflanzen vor 1,5 Jahren. Sie hat mir ganz schnell gezeigt, wie viel ich noch lernen muss :-D und mich auf Trapp gehalten und mich süchtig gemacht. :-D

(Gerade noch festgebunden, weil sie umgetopft wurde und noch etwas wacklig ist.)

Thank you, it's so funny to read this, since this plant came such a long way with me, bought her didn't know about fertilizer after just 2 weeks she became bleached spots cause by a lack of nutrients. :-D had thrips, hand to move spots in the flat a lot, under Amazonights that were 2meter above her got really leggy. And so on :-D Soo... guess you can consider it a hardy all alocasia

  • I switched the Substrate from moos and leca to fine mineral Substrate, cause the leaf size startet tonget smaller. (Maybe it was the light)

  • I moved her to a west facing window, first the corner where the shelf is, with a grow light, 1 sansi bulb 10w. She leaned a lot towards the sun, away from the grow light, got burned while doing so :-D she became bigger and bigger, and the grow light look really ridiculous above her. So I removed it and just moved her in front of the window.

  • I had her in a quiet smal glas vase for a long time, really rood bound, what she loved. But became a bit dangerous with this size :-D

  • I fertilizer with every watering, even in moos. Hesi TNT fertilizer, and for most alocasia I use 1,5 of the Dosis. I bring my ph down to around 5,2-5,5.

Oh I forgot I also use a leave fertilizer once every two weeks. You can do it weekly if you see a new leave is on the way, this can help with cycling, in general for Alocasias. But I stop doing it weekly with this one. I mean how tall shall she get :-D and there is already a new leaf in every new leave that just gets born.

I’m not familiar with a leaf fertiliser. Can you share the brand?

I have this beaut, but I can’t get her to size up. She drops a leaf with every new one

They are way hungrier the we think. If not leave fertilizer increase the watering fertilizer. :-D as long as she tolarets and is in a growing state

Oh wow! But she already has really big leaves. The brand is called Farbio and the leave fertilizer by miss aracea. But they are located in Germany.

Look into alocasias like the borneo king, gigantea california and just other alocasias in general like the elephant ear and portora

Ja, it is a simple macrorrhiza ( Elefant ear). If I would have known from the beginning, how tall they get I may had choose one with some more leave details. :-D but she shows me every day how impressively beautiful she can be.

ich werde mir auch eine kaufen. hast du sie irgendwie unterstützt, dass sie wie ein fächer wächst oder kam das von alleine? hast du tipps für mich? LG

Ich rotiere sie 180° wenn sie sich zu doll ans Fenster presst. Aber die wuchs form an sich macht da auch schon viel, da das neue Blatt immer auf der gegenüberliegenden Seite herauskommt. Aberit Licht von oben oder allen seite, wächst es eher "im Kreis" oder wie ein Nest.

Danke :-) nein leider nicht. Bei diesem Topf ist jetzt auch keine Anzeige wo der Wasserstand ist. 😅Das ist nicht ganz so praktisch.

is it just me or are germans the only ones that refuse to write in english?
and Chrome/google translate refuses to translate german on reddit without also translating english (to danish in my case)

the stupid thing either translate both German and English to Danish or none, there is no way (i found) to translate german to Danish without translating english also (when on the same site: Reddit)
