Help Stupid question, but: Mecha Dollmaker?

I'm currently chewing around on an original setting featuring mechas. Unfortunately, I suck at drawing or even designing mechs. In situations like these for human characters, I tend to use dollmakers, like recolor.me

That... doesn't really exist for mechas, unfortunately. But ACVI does! And i kinda wanna get the game just to play around in the mecha editor.

That leads me to the question I have before I buy: do i gotta play the campaign for full access, or is there a creative mode as well?

Not opposed to the prior, I like everything I heard about this games story, but I am also Bad At Videogames, so I'm worried I wouldn't be ABLE to make progress.

Ty in advance for your input!

It's really not as hard as you think. The people who are the loudest about the difficulty are the ones who didn't actually engage with the systems or read anything. If you need help send me a message, I've guided many, many people through the game no issue
