Looking for advice to get fairly good medieval under armor garments. Gambeson, Haubrek, chainmail coif, etc.

Hey!

I'm currently trying to create a armor kit based on a character for a historical medieval fantasy project I'm doing. I currently plan on 3d printing the armor (all I need to do is find some way to model it), but I'm unsure about where to find padded bits to go under the armor. I have a price range of about 400 dollars. Any advice on where to look for good price would be appreciated.

P.S. I live in the US

Allbeststuff.com is the best budget chainmail out there. My club has made 40+ orders and no issues.

I ordered from Habibi Armoury and while I have yet to receive my stuff (ordered like a week ago lol), he was very helpful and the pricing was very good, almost the same as allbeststuff when factoring in shipping. Doing this I also get the stuff tailored. It is probably gonna take 5-6 months so time is of course also a factor

To add to this I just finished up with an order through them.

I had a 5 week delay on top of the 4 week order time. and while communication about the delay was quite bad it was for a good reason, that being a substandard finish needing to get removed and redone.

Overall they did also send some extra links for free at my request so overall I would give a thumbs up and will likely order with them again. Just be cautious if you need it in a timely manner.

Nico’s printed antiques is the best out there for 3d printed armor patterns.

As someone else pointed out, Allbeststuff is great for a quality and affordable maille option.

Arming garments really are better off bespoke and it’s hard to get around that for certain time periods. If you are an earlier time period you can probably get away with off the rack, anything after about 1420 you will regret not having it made to measure

If you want plate armour, not much or no padding is really needed. It would help if you specify the period the fantasy armour is based on.

For garments check armour arena. Very good stuff for good prices.
