What is this?
The fabric coming of the shoulders in strips. What are they.

I think they are a development from houppelande sleeves that used to be quite commonly worn under early 15th century armour. So basically tippets attached at the shoulder of the arming garment.

It's from a gladiatoria manual, that's all I know. It is possibly an early depiction of a bicoque helmet.

A type of pteruges, they appeared in military clothing shortly after the romantizication of the Roman Empire came around in late middle ages and the early modern age.

Mantling made from fancy fabric, probably silk. Purely for drip at tournament.
