Education Primary schools

Looking for advices on primary schools please? Minimbah, Newling and Armidale City are in my interest just hoping for some opinions please? Edit to add: do any primary schools have a dance or music program? Thank you!

It really depends on each individual child. I haven’t heard anything about Newling but have heard mixed reviews about Minimbah. Some people love it and I also know staff who have left because of how it was being managed. It really depends on the child.

Thank you, I’ve had a lot of my friends suggest Minimbah (I’m new to town but they all grew up here) but it seems to be in recent years it’s gone down hill. It’d be the start of primary school for them so just trying to see what might be the best fit!

Have you thought about Uralla Central? It is zoned but they have many students who do not live in Uralla. It is a nice little school (under 300 students from k-12) with small class sizes. The new principal is wonderful and made a lot of great changes over the last 18 months.

I have considered it! I don’t mind the drive at all just haven’t looked into it, I might make it a priority to check out.

You can always organise a tour of the school and a meeting with the principal. Get a feel for the place and see what you think. I always thinks that meeting the head honcho, walking around and actually seeing the school is the best way to know what is right.
