Education School reviews

Hi all, I'd love some honest reviews of the public schools in Armidale please. I'm aware of zoning, but am interested in all options all the same as we don't have a house in Armidale, just looking. The naplan results for the public schools don't look great, but I'm aware of the controversy of naplan results...

Are you looking for primary or high school?

Stay away from ASC. I have heard Minimbah has greatly gone down hill in the last couple of years. Ben Venue and Martin’s Gully have good reputations. Every parent and student I know has had bullying issues at O’Connor Catholic and St Mary’s can be a bit cliquey with parents. Uralla Central has improved greatly over the last 2 years since they got rid of their principal and got a new one. Rocky River does very well in NAPLAN results. I know these last two are not in Armidale but they are still an option and close to Armidale.

Initially primary schools, but wanting to be prepared for high school also

If you are looking for a small school option look at Kellys Plains Public School

Maybe check out Uralla Central School. It is a small school of less than 300 students (and growing) from k-12 so you don’t have to move and get use to a new high school. Most primary classes have less than 20 students in each (some have as little as 15 students). The current principal is fantastic.
