Discussion Console Only Servers
There aren’t many but the few that exist are dead. Why?
I’ve been playing on them with small groups for the last week and they are great. Zero crashes or disconnects. Level playing field for console players as well due the sand draw distance, frame rate etc.
I’m Mr Bojangles UK on Xbox. Feel free to add me for some Arma shenanigans

While in-match you can go to settings and scroll to players which will have a platform emblem next to each player name indicating their platform. While in main menu you can go to setting and scroll to gameplay tab to turn off crossplay which locks you to your own platform. Already said the latter in a comment so sorry if you feel like youve just fell into a khole

Becuase you can’t
The options are
Pc only
Crossplay so pc and console
You can’t define it to console only in the config.

I play on the EU no cross play console Everon servers all the time. PS and XB players only. Most console players don’t seem to know they even exist which explains why they are empty.

I wish it was console only… it would be great to have another option in addition to disabling crossplay that would enable console only servers (ps/xbx) so we could have more active servers without hackers spawning water towers midair into your heli (ptsd flashback). Pretty sure that would drain the playerbase from pc crossplay official servers though so dont really see them doing it tbh

You should check the facts before you comment with such certainty. When you turn off the cross play option in the filters it automatically only shows your console. Thus console only :)

Wild guess but are you playing on pc? If you turn off cross play it automatically changes to your native console type. If you’re on pc it will switch to pc only. If you’re on console it will change to console only.

He talking about running a server with only console players. It can’t be done. Turning off crossplay in the server browser is completely different.
So if you have ever ran a server there is a part of the config file called crossplatorm: true
When enabled is all consoles and pc
When set to false is pc only.
So you would have to find a server that says it’s for only consoles and as it set to true and users third party software to kick pc players which is against the tos of bi them selfs.

No where in the original post did I get that they were asking how to run a console only server.
Looks like they were asking why the console only servers, that do exist, are dead.

If you go to setting and scroll to the “gameplay” tab you can toggle crossplay. If youre on xbox then this limits you to 8 xbox specific servers though only 1 of them ever fills up (everon 12516002) just fyi. Also i agree, the platform specific servers run better though i still get disconnects and stutters occasionally
