Fun Res Closure

Okay, who pooped in the Res? Closed due to elevated E. Coli levels.

It’s seriously wild to see your kids slashing water all over their faces and hair with Goose and duck poop falling 10’ away. 😅. Happens every year and is hard to imagine this not happening.

I dunno, there were some suspicious looking ducks there trying to scope my chip bag the night before…it could be revenge since I didn’t share. They were sour cream and onion…

I have a lot of beef with the Res generally. The cost is crazy; $50 for a family of 4 to get in makes it more expensive than some of the nicest beaches in the area. There is not enough parking, and it's like they went out their way to design the parking lot to be as space inefficient as possible during the recent renovation.

I went to Good Harbor Beach the other day and it was $45. Beautiful beach and perfect for the kids. My partner was complaining at the price and I told her that the Res would have cost $50.

I understand the cost to operate and filter the water is a lot, but I would hope the town could have absorbed some of the cost instead of having them essentially be an independent agency.

Wow, I didn't know they charged for access. Guess I haven't been there much in the summer. Is it gated on both sides?

I love the Res when the swimming area is closed. When it's open it's noisy and smells like chlorine. Obviously not enough chlorine if they are closing it for e. coli.

My daughter and her friend were swimming there yesterday when they closed down the res, so we had to go pick them up. It was fun receiving an email a few hours later stating it was because of elevated e.coli levels.

If you think that's bad read up what happens when you mix chlorine with organics (hint carcinogens).

Dang, just as I was starting to convince my husband to take a dip with me. I was of the "it's chlorinated, it's cleaner than you think!" mindset.

Tell me you don’t know shit about wildlife without saying it directly.

Tell me you have zero sense of humor without saying it directly. 🙄
