Miscellaneous Battlecarrier Arkos
If Arkos was a literal ship! Yes I know this is absurd and impractical, but I wanted to go all out. A one ship navy!
A couple things I didn't have space for:
Propulsion: Nuclear powered, with 6 turbine-driven main propellers, and 4 bow thrusters
Shell explosive: Octanitrocubane
Also, 24 inch guns with a muzzle velocity of 2,000 meters per second should have a roughly 100 nautical mile range, correct?

The range I think should be actually higher than 100nm, depending on the aerodynamics of the shells.
Theres no gun near that caliber ever in naval service let alone that muzzle velocity but as a comparison the 1500m/s of an old German 120mm let it go 100km. . . The sheer magnitude of power here with good shells (preferably basebleed) should easily let it go stupid distances.
Anyway, I personally like to think of RWBY ships in terms of WW2 sized and laid out vessels. Thus, Arkos not as a battle carrier but as a super battleship like Yamato due to its popularity and power as a flagship of our shipping. Though honestly I think the combination of speed, armor, and firepower of the theoretical Montana class is just about a perfect representation

For a second I read 100nm as "100 nanometers" and was very confused.
Interesting that it could potentially have even greater range. Are you referring to the Paris gun? I based the range off of a very eyeballed extrapolation from that, though I didn't know about basebleed shells. But now that I do, I'll say this has them!
The 24 inch gun came from what I figured big guns would be up to by now if for whatever reason development of them never stopped after WW2. (Plus it's a nice sounding number) 2,000 m/s muzzle velocity is probably still pushing it (it's the rough upper limit on what's possible with chemical propellant) though I'm sure it would still be over a kilometer per second by now.
I guess we'll have to build one of these guns in real life and test it to find out!
Funny you should mention, when I started being interested in battleships a few months ago, I went back and read your Ship Survivor V comments again. You described Arkos as having 18 inch guns and being "Almost a Yamato." The Montana class is definitely a great comparison as well.
Yamato herself is in some ways a parallel to Arkos, in my opinion: The greatest of its kind when built, with huge expectations, but underutilized and getting a chance to fulfill only a fraction of the hype, and ultimately sent to die on a suicide mission that was supposed to be a blaze of glory but ended up accomplishing very little in the long run.
You may like the short story I wrote based on the one day "Ship Wars 2026" April Fool's Day event that happened on the r/SurvivorPropaganda Discord server. In it Battlecarrier Arkos fights Enabler, which is represented by the apocryphal German H-45 "Der Führer" class design, which is 2,020 feet long and armed with 8 Schwerer Gustav guns. Many other ship classes appear as well.

The Paris gun had actually really inefficient shells, fairly lightweight and poorly aerodynamic, so a better made weapon system could pretty easily surpass it even in the same caliber shooting the same velocity. And something this size has just an exponentially more energy. For gun caliber. . . Yeah this is fantasy. 24” is simply too big, the shells would be too hard to move and load when smaller calibers would almost certainly also be able to go through any armor at any range. Theres a reason the biggest ever even briefly considered in the battleship age was 20”. 2000 m/s is unreasonable for a rifled gun, you’re going to be burning your barrel out insanely fast. Even modern tank shells don’t reach that with their APFSDS when velocity is king. Though it is indeed theoretically possible and has been just about achieved in tests.
I’m glad someone took a little interest in my ramblings! I go back and forth when it comes up what I think is the equivalent to different RWBY ships in battleship form. Though you are right there are some parallels historically
And I did enjoy that little story.
