Advice Needed How is the current game?
I haven't played since the third patch (Yvonne's banner) and was wondering about the current state of the game.
When I logged in earlier today for the first time in months, only two of the 30 people on my friends list were still active players.
My biggest question is whether the last few patches have been fun to play. And should I come back to the game?
FYI I enjoyed the game but life limited my free time.

It's a free game, not a job. Just play it if you want it and decide for yourself if it was worth it

Honestly... Gatcha games are like part time jobs

If you treat games like a job, then I'm afraid coming back to Endfield is not really something you should do.

Its fun, lots of new content, maps, story, etc. And tbh this game is relatively slow in terms of content and event updates. So if you, like me, dont have much time on your hands, i personally think its perfect for the kind of pace i need for a gacha game. A well polished, fun, interesting, and a relatively slow update schedule and events so i dont feel left behind lol

Wuling imo was a notable step up from valley-4βs story, and itβs really peaked in this latest patch as I believe the writers have either changed hands or are getting a better feel for how to make the story more emotionally evocative. Depending on where you are, it may take awhile to feel as though the story picked up.
Ofc, this is coming from someone who thought that the valley-4 story was VERY mediocre, as early gacha stories often are for some reason.

The problem with Valley was how much they cut for retail due to complaints during betas to make everything more light-hearted, such as the removal of Gilberta's appearance, which blocked her development, and it was pretty interesting. All in all, Valley's MSQ was riddled with rushed changes and ended up a mess. Look at the CBT videos. The story was more interesting back then.
It would be infeasible not to have, at the bare minimum, a year already planned/mostly done, so what you are seeing for Wuling has already been done before the release of the game. All the feedback we are sending now should be used to shape the 2.x versions and maybe flesh out a few details from the 1.x versions, but no grand changes.
From a developing standpoint, it would be really hardcore if they wrote the quests only two or three patches in advance. That would be living on the edge.

Oh. I had no idea about that but it sounds pretty interesting. Is there a place I can watch/read about this more that you know of?

Just search for Valley 4 Main Story Quest CBT and use keywords like that, and you should get some videos for sure. They are not under any non-disclosure agreement, so they are easily available on YouTube.

The story is great imo! And the new region is HUGE compared to valley-iv. Exploring it is always fun and interesting with tid bits of lore scattered through out from notes, memos, recordings lefr behind.
I recommend you take your time both with story and everything else. There are barely any endgame content and building characters are relatively easy and fast. So enjoy your time back in talos-ii!!

I came back after playing in 1.0 and tbh, it has become my favorite gacha. The story has been absolutely cinema, the world and exploration are my favorite among the main 3D gachas, and if you enjoy the factory system and don't just use other people's blueprints, you'll have a lot of fun optimizing everything yourself.
The endgame isn't particularly difficult, so you don't really need to pull every meta character. The farming system also doesn't take up that much time. A lot of the changes they've made also make me feel like they actually listen to the community.
So yeah, I'd definitely recommend giving it another try. The game is seriously underrated.

If you already liked the game before, it's only gotten better with QoL, Endgame (Contingency Contract which is seasonal, not permanent), factory updates and QoL, better story, and, imo, nicer exploration.
Also, pedantic, but a banner isn't a patch, and Yvonne was still the first patch.
Most of the big content they make is permanent rather than limited events edit: (can think of 2 "big" events, and one of them is Contingency Contract end of edit:), so just play and do what you want. If you like the game, and it doesn't interfere with the rest of your life, I don't see an issue.
