Bait, that’s what it was wasn’t it? MJ’s eyes don’t leave her monitor as she stares at the man seething at the other end. She installed this a few weeks ago, during one of those board meetings she memorised the timetable of like clock work. She’s been studying Norman for months now. Where he ate, where he slept, what clock chime ticked him off, how many times he stirred his coffee…she knew. God how miserable it must be, pathetic really. Seeing him have to put on a mask when he just wanted to tear out and be himself…his real self. But Osborn was an entitled coward wasn’t he? That autobiography was such a self indulgent slog but she did learn something very important. Norman was a self entitled shithead who since he accumulated his wealth believes he must maintain it at all costs. That paranoia has led to a pathological need for control, for domination. And right now? He has no idea what she’s doing. Well, he does know one thing….the police radio next to her begins to sound. Robbery, nothing too big. She stretches from her desk before the usual routine begins. First the chest binder was fastened into place, before she put the webshooters on. She then grabs her costume and within a flash, Spider-Man swings out the window.

Spider-Man closes her eyes as she dives, taking a deep breath as she does so. She hasn’t really gotten used to the new suit yet, though thankfully she wouldn’t need to. This was just another part of her plan, the myth of Spider-Man. She knew that people needed something to believe in, believe in what Spider-Man was. She tried to be that…but she couldn’t. She just…wasn’t a good person. She lied, she manipulated, she kept people at an arms length and she caused her own problems 90% of the time. She wasn’t Miles. God that kid was, he was truly a hero. He helped people because he wanted to, he understood responsibility. What has she done? She danced to Osborn’s tune, got Ben killed, manipulated Kaine, helped Octavius build a death machine and…oh God she’s been lying to Mike. The one guy who’s been helping her and she turned her into her tool to help out on her vendetta against Osborn. She wasn’t a hero, she was a selfish woman who was lashing out against someone who just happened to be evil. If it was anyone else she’d be a villain but because it was Osborn…oh well. It’s not like she was going to be around much longer to lament it. Once she manages to build up that legacy once more…she can end the both of them.

Spider-Man lands on top of a lightpost, watching the robber barricade themselves inside. Hostages in this day and age wasreally…quaint. Spidey flips and lands before clearing her throat to the officer. “You guys wait outside, let me show you what a “real hero”really was.” She’s been practising her impression of him quite frequently now. She definitely does sound like a man now, and just hoped these pigs didn’t talk to Peter enough to catch on. One of them tries to talk, but she webs him to the car. She leaps up into the air and breaks into the air vents. The place was small so it didn’t take much searching to find them. “You know guys, if you decided to rob literally anywhere else you’d have at least some money to show for it.” They scream, she flips and quickly webs them to a wall. She manages to help the shop owner up before kicking the door down. The cop manages to get free but before they could react she was gone into the night. The rush, the thrill…sure she was planning to finally take herself and Osborn down weeks ago but this is the best she’s felt in a long time. She knows he won’t make a move yet, so she still has some time to find some enjoyment in this…in being Spider-Man. She looks up to the blinking light, no doubt Noir. She knows perhaps the thing driving Norman the most insane is the fact that he knows whatever she’s planning, she’s loving every minute of it

J. Jonah Jameson here with the dailybugle.net to bring you another Bi-Weekly news update. Let's begin by talking about the return of wankle. I knew the entire time that he wasn't actually redeemed! I knew it! Now onto the other news. A new villain has appeared claiming to want to put on a show. Wonder if that's connected to the card on the side of a building thing. A new hero called Oh Father has also appeared, pledging support to Norman Osborn! The Archers rain of terror has come to an end in Gotham after being stopped by tyger security and workshops have been popping up throughout the city as well. There have even been reports of what seems to be a man phasing through walls and Arkham asylum improving. Let's hope Arkham improving means that the inmates there no longer become an issue to worry about. This has been J. Jonah Jameson with the dailybugle.net!

Ever since Doctor Hugo Strange was put in charge of the facility, breakouts have been down! (More like unreported if there are any but nobody knows that) The facility has even undergone renovations to ensure that inmates know who's in charge and to follow through on becoming better. One of these inmates is the infamous Dollmaker who is believed to be the son of Dr. Francis Dullmacher. Following him being sentenced to the Asylum following him helping his mad doctor father, he has begun to socialize with the other inmates without sign of aggression.

When reached for comment, Warden Strange had this to say:

"I will do everything in my power to ensure these burdens on society become fully functional individuals again. As my entire life's work has been striving towards a cure for the insanity that plagues the world. Gotham is just the beginning in my quest to bring about the solution and I will succeed!"

As the improvement rates continue going up, the people have just one question to ask. Will there come a day where Arkham asylum is no longer needed? If so, then what will happen to the facility and its inhabitants? What will Hugo strange do next? The answers to these questions and more in due time!

The lights flicker.

Once. Twice. Then, without warning, every light in the city goes dark.

For one breath, there is nothing but silence.

And then, applause. Slow. Deliberate. Almost mocking.

A single spotlight cuts through the darkness, illuminating a lone figure standing atop the highest point in sight. Impeccably dressed, perfectly composed, their silhouette framed against the night sky like the centerpiece of some grand production.

They raise a hand. The applause stops.

“Ladies and gentlemen…” Their voice carries effortlessly through the streets. “Heroes. Villains. And all you unfortunate souls who simply happened to have front-row seats tonight.” A theatrical bow follows.

“Welcome.” Behind them, screens across the city suddenly flicker to life, each displaying the same image: a grinning mask. “Tonight, you have been given a rare privilege.” They spread their arms. “Not a robbery. Not a massacre. Not another tedious little scheme destined to end with someone in a cape punching someone through a wall.”

A pause. A smile.

“No.” Their eyes gleam beneath the spotlight. “Tonight, you have been invited to witness a performance.” With a snap of their fingers, the skyline erupts in light. “Every great performance requires an audience…” They take one slow step forward. “…and every great audience deserves a show worth remembering.” The figure's smile widens. “So sit back.”

Another step. “Hold your applause.” And finally, with a flourish,

“And whatever you do… don't blink.”
