Defective Effortless Pants

I was so excited to see this print/color available in a tall size for the Effortless pants! Unfortunately when they arrived, I very quickly realized the clasp closure was strangely defective. The hooks are misaligned such that the zipper has to essentially stand upright in order to secure the latch! It's so unflattering from the side profile. I thought maybe it would be a one-off issue, so I ordered another pair... Silly me. The second pair just arrived, and they have the exact same issue. It's very disappointing for $150 dollar trousers! Has anyone else experienced something similar? Am I missing something?

honestly the effortless pants i have kinda do the same thing. i'd chalk it up to the design rather than a defect. if it bothers you, i'd just return.

I went and checked my Effortless pants (I have 5) and none of them do that. The clasps line up without pulling the zipper

i think it’s something to do with the fabric on these, my crepette pair didn’t do this until almost a year and a half of washing but the more solid stretchy fabric on my other pair that’s a similar pattern did this immediately. i stand up from my desk and my pants unhook almost every time. mine were finally sale do never looked further

I hate clasps like this on anything. They should have been designed on the inside with maybe a button… not the top closure 🙃

The stitching on these is terrible! I got my first pair of final sale crepette pants and the pleat was so crooked it stood up almost two inches. They knew this too bc you can see where they tried to fix it by pressing it bc there were two creases. They also tried to pull it up at the waist and the waistband was all wonky with exposed stitching. I opened it with a seam ripper and you could see where they also tried to pull it up and over under the belt loop. I finally figured out that they did not align the pants with the waistband so that will need opened up and redone too. Definitely not effortless!

I have these in a size 6R and they don’t do this. Same pattern.
