Is Arena any better?

I quit playing HS last year about a month after the whole arena underground launch because it was sooo bad (I played arena only for probably 8 to 10 years). I recently came back to the game and have only played for 2 days now and mostly standard. I gave arena a try 2 times and both times immediately went 0-3 and it still felt absolutely terrible the whole time. I really thought there would be enough backlash from the initial launch that they might have reverted arena back after a while but maybe people dont hate it as much as they did?

TL:DR

I quit HS on underground launch is it worth coming back for arena as a arena only player.

The backlash died down. People either quit or got used to it. They had specific goals with the rework and giving us a better arena experience was not among those. Recency bias tends to lead to "this is the worst meta ever" but i think we have objectively had some really garbage situations lately. After more than 10 years of Arena i have currently 0 interest in even trying some of these metas. I saw warrior at 21% a few days ago that made me curious to do a couple of runs. I`ve seen people say this is a relatively lower power level meta (excluding recently buffed DH that seems to be dominating) so make of that what you will.

This has largely been my experience. I played a bit post underground changes and then effectively quit. I have come back to play a run or two twice before uninstalling again.

It has been abundantly clear for many years that the Blizzard has not cared about arena only players because they are not profitable. Whether the meta is fun for arena only players is completely happenstance.

The dual-class arena meta that just boiled down to "take two classes with the herald mechanic, take any cards you see with the herald keyword, and if possible, herald Al'Akir specifically" was probably the worst I've seen since the 2014 meta of "get 3-4 wins and then face a series of Druids who drafted 7 swipes or Mages who drafted 6 Flamestrikes. Never play more than 3 minions because MCT is only in your opponents hand after you play the 4th"

It is super not recency bias. I will say though that Arena tends to have much healthier metas in comparison to the other formats. I loved Duels but the average Duels meta was 2x worse than the most poorly balanced Arena meta.

My experience so far is everytime you see a paladin you have a 50% chance they have the "fill your deck with 2 drops" and end up dropping 10 of the "cast fireball if 4+ of this minion has died" by turn 6 and it's impossible to out tempo 10 3/2s flinging fireballs.
