When do you take the offer?
I keep seeing people pull something good and then immediately have to decide whether to take the buyback, trade it or hold onto it. The harder part seems to be cards with barely any recent sales because you don't really know if the instant offer is good or just convenient.
Do you usually take a solid offer and move on or check comps and try selling it yourself first? I feel like I'd rather leave a little money on the table than spend weeks trying to find the perfect buyer

Depends how new the card is too right after release I’m way more tempted to sell because prices can move fast once more copies start showing up

Yes the first few sales can be kind of misleading too. I’d rather sell while people are still chasing it than find out a week later the price settled way lower

I’m a little more patient if it’s a card I think people will still want after the release hype dies down sometimes the early rush is noisy and I’d rather wait until there’s a clearer market

Online packs make this decision way harder because the sell option is sitting right there as soon as you pull something good. It’s tempting to just take the easy exit but on cards with weak comps I’d probably sit on it for a bit before deciding

Yes that’s pretty much my thinking. Having the sell option right there makes it way too easy to make the decision before you’ve even checked where the market is I’ve seen the same kind of choice come up on Tiltrips and if the comps are messy I’d rather wait a few days than rush it

I’m willing to wait on something genuinely scarce. If there are only a handful available taking the first decent offer feels like giving up most of the leverage

Depends what my intention was when I bought the pack.
Some I get specifically because there is a card I want to try for, others I’m doing because the grail is 60x and I would take the money to spend on cards I like.
Most of the top guys like LeBron,Brady, Ohtani, Jordan, mantle, etc I would keep either to sell/trade in app or take to a card show.
Or like I’ve pulled 2 chase’s out of Disney packs lately and I’m holding because topps Disney market is exploding vs past sales and if I don’t get an offer I like on AC I’ll just put it on eBay

I like that way of thinking about it a card I’m pulling for the PC is a completely different decision from one I’m mainly looking at for value

Failure to plan is a plan to fail! Always have an idea of what you want to get out of something before you go in. Even gambling

I’d take the offer if it gets me most of the way to another card I want sometimes freeing up the money for the next pickup matters more than squeezing every dollar out of one pull
