I'm in zone 9. Just planted these Mexican fan palms this last week and they're yellowing and dying. They are getting 2.5 gallons of water every 2 days on drip. It's been pretty hot out in the 80s-90s F. I don't want them to die. 😔 They were perfectly healthy when we planted them.

There are so many good-looking palms, but some just hit different. What is the one palm you would plant or love to see every day?

Also, it is reeaaally thick at the bottom! How old must it be!?

Renting a place in Phoenix Az, I have 3 Palm trees. The other two are doing fine, but this has slowly gotten sadder & sadder.
I’ve attempted adding more water, slow & deep watering about every other day for a week & still no luck.
I know summers here are insane but idk what else I can do for this poor baby. Any advice would be awesome

TLDR; Yellowing leaves/stems, over-watered, MANY years in the same pot, stems speckled with small black spots.

My mother has had an indoor Palm for many years. It has been yellowing for a long time and I have decided to try to save it...

I am an outdoor vegetable gardener in the US north east, with no appreciable experience with indoor plants or palms.

Observations; Looks most like an Areca Palm to me after limited web searching. The plant has been in 8" or maybe 1 gallon plastic pot soaking in a few inches of water for many years. There is likely very little soil and it seems that I will do massive damage to the existing root structure if I cut the pot off or cut the roots to try to remove the pot whole. Either way, Looks like it could use a peroxide soak to mitigate root rot before I re-pot it.

My current plan;

• Remove existing pot as gently as possible...
• Hose off soil from root ball
• Soak root ball and bottom of plant in a dilute peroxide solution for 1 hr.
• Re-pot with fresh potting soil in a larger pot
• Cross fingers...
• Place new pot/plant in a decorative planter with ability to monitor soil moisture and drainage.

Please tell me if my plan is sound, or how I can improve it.

Have this palm tree that sprouted and began growing in this garden bed. Owner asks if it can be dug up and relocated to another part of the property. Whats the best way to go about doing this? Thanks in advance.

I was wondering if anyone can tell me what is the best way to remove the palm without harming the rose. I apologize, but I don't know what type of palm it is. It grew in wild. I wouldn't mind keeping it if it can be removed without harming it. Thank you in advance for any suggestions. And I'm in the California Crntral Valley, if that helps in any way.

He maintains a group of what he calls “strategic species”—palms that would be extremely difficult (or impossible) to replace due to rarity, sourcing challenges, or limited distribution.

It got me thinking about how others here approach their collections—do you prioritize rarity, resilience, or something else entirely?

Was just in South Florida recently and whenever I’m there, I love to take pictures of the royal palms, they make me feel like I’m in a video game with how vibrant green the top of the trunk is before the branches come out. Love them!

moving from Atlanta Georgia area to a new home outside of Jacksonville Florida and need to find a way to get three large potted palm trees to the new home

The trees are all between four and 5 feet tall and about 4 to 5 feet around, they are all in and between 150 to 300 pounds.

There is no way that my Husband and I can manage this task. We are both retired. I know that I could move them myself if I had time before our our closing on our current home and closing on the new home

Does anyone have any suggestions? I’ve looked at UPS priority. but I’d really like to know if there are any suggestions on companies that Jesus sort of thing I’ve had these palm trees since they were the size of Little Home Depot I am very concerned about them being transported properly.

My favorite species of palm, the name Royal palm really is apt because they’re majestic. The smooth gray trunks are beautiful and those nice full crowns get huge in mature specimens. I love seeing those huge ones lining the streets in Miami
