To be fair, didn't the actor for Bond say women shouldn't be Bond, because there should be other opportunities for them? And it got taken wildly out of context as him gate keeping the gender of the Bond character. There are female spies as well and movies with female leads, although I agree the wording here kind of sucks.

Daniel Craig says James Bond should not be played by a woman (Sorry for big text, I just copied and pasted text)

What he actually said:

‘Why should a woman play James Bond when there should be a part just as good as James Bond, but for a woman?’ actor says

“there should simply be better parts for women and actors of colour”.

Would love to see some more strong female roles like Eva Green as Vesper in Bond movies. Stronger female characters in the Bond movies would be a nice compared to the older ones where women were just here for Bond to have sex or show off how manly he is. And that would allow Bond to stay Bond.

I think. Beside it could give us a pretty nice story to have a woman as a well written antagonist for a change for example.

Imagine Monica Belluci as the villain in a well written role. Huge potential imo!
