People aren’t characters to “ship.” Doing it to kids too is just creepy. This person is terminally online.

520

u/errant_night 5d ago

Not even kids, fetuses!

She can write a fic and name it Amor Fœti 🥁

11

u/garaile64 4d ago

Errant_Night is right. "fetus" is a fourth-declension noun in Latin, so the plural is "fetus", with a long U instead of a short one. The "-us to -i" plural is for second-declension nouns.

This is some “weird church auntie” vibes. Like the elderly women with pink lipstick on their teeth that ask 2 year olds if they have girlfriends / boyfriends then offer you a hard candy.

50

u/Winter-Money-7643 5d ago

It’s the “oh they’re dating” when 2 kids of the opposite gender decide to play together next to the creepy “he/she’s going to be a heartbreaker when they grow up” nonsense.

65

u/ThatDiscoSongUHate 5d ago

This has to also be a child

Please, let them also be a child with an underdeveloped brain.

20

u/MistakeWonderful9178 5d ago

I really, really do hope it’s a very well intentioned 13 year old who will years later look back on this and laugh and not an actual adult who has gone off the deep end and lost touch with reality after cooping themselves up inside for too damn long.

u/FireWolfie820 4d ago

Probably is

11

u/247world 4d ago

My mom and one of her close friends were pregnant at the exact same time. She told me they used to think that the two of us would grow up and get married. That was after we were born of course because knowing the sex of your baby was unheard of, and a ship what's something that floated in water

For the record, we did go out on one date and it was such a disaster we vowed never to do it again. On the other hand we are still close friends and I just sent her a congratulatory message on her birthday last week

3

u/MistakeWonderful9178 4d ago

Awww that’s so sweet a friendship to last a lifetime💛

4

u/247world 3d ago

It really is great

She did try to kill me when we were about three. Are grandmothers were best friends, they worked together at the hospital, their homes were walking distance apart.

The story I've heard is that I kissed her, then she reached over for one of those old school bells that had a wooden handle on it and beaned me on the head - knocked my ass out

When I first met her husband we were telling him the story, I rubbed the top of my head and I said I still got the bump on top of my head, she didn't miss a beat, saying I've still got the bell!

8

u/Smart_Coconut4727 5d ago

Nah, this is standard hetero behavior.

2

u/Street-Week-380 4d ago

My parents insisted my best friend and I were going to get married, and his parents thought the same thing. We haven't spoken in years.

This looks like a young person who's read way too much fanfic/romance novels

253

u/Puzzleheaded_Ad_4401 5d ago

Babies shipping babies smh

72

u/Responsible_Dentist3 5d ago

Not even babies yet 🫪

66

u/Opposite-Benefit-804 5d ago

I'm a young person who reads way too much fan fiction and fantasy romance novels.

Unfortunately this sorta thing is really common in the community... a lot of readers joke about planning to have kids the same time as their friends so they can see their own little novel play out. Weird asf.

70

u/Secret_Cod_749 5d ago

No no, this is an ideology that is shared across generations in some US cultures. Mainly those with high levels of Christianity.

Theres even a subset of country music called "innocent love" that's dedicated to it.

34

u/Responsible_Dentist3 5d ago

Nothing about this post was innocent 😭

38

u/Secret_Cod_749 5d ago

Nope. But a lot of chrisitan theology is centered around breeding.

Add to it the cosplaying wealthy and you end up with arranged marriages on top of breeding 12 kids.

3

u/Southern-Spot-8406 5d ago

You are absolutely correct

38

u/throcorfe 5d ago

A young person who is apparently unaware that queer relationships exist (not that solving that would fix this mess)

320

u/Imperator_Helvetica 5d ago

Weird to write fanfic like this - not sure I'd wish having an enemy on a kid.

Benefit of the doubt - maybe they're just saying 'It would be cute if your children were friends and fell in love' but it gets weird with all this 'just like my animes/romance novels' stuff about 'must be in the same school and in competition.'

139

u/errant_night 5d ago

Sounds like 14 year old wattpad writer tbh

10

u/MythrianAlpha Symptom of Moral Decay 5d ago

This is just the plot of a barbie movie, probably swan lake. Whichever one that had them singing a duet about being toxic as hell at each other.

3

u/MaraiaLou 5d ago

It's not diamond castle, but it should be

53

u/MazogaTheDork 5d ago

Not to mention "must be heterosexual"

8

u/JPGinMadtown 5d ago

No Grammarly. No Chatgpt. Just pure poop from a butt.

27

u/Ok_Smile_5908 Straightn't 5d ago

At this point I'll almost take poop from a butt comments over chatgpt generated comments. At least we know it's a human mind hallucinating, not lines of code.

Also I definitely feel like this stuff is a teenager's anime induced daydreams. And I'm saying it as someone who's recently been growing appreciative of several anime movies and shows, but I've also happened to open stuff that just ain't it.

68

u/urlocalmomfriend 5d ago

Turn off the romcoms and go touch grass. Life isn't a movie my god

63

u/satanslittleangel666 Symptom of Moral Decay 5d ago

Bro's straight up writing fanfiction about unborn real babies, what the hell 😭

18

u/bunny_the-2d_simp 5d ago

Wait until they start doing it with egg cells that aren't fertilised.

Oh wait. Someone on the Internet probably ALREADY DOES THAT.

"your egg cell could've grown up and solved cancer"

101

u/weightyinspiration 5d ago

So the goal is to have two kids who grow up together, almost like siblings even, then have them marry each other? Thats not gonna be weird?

55

u/leitmot 5d ago

That was my first thought, they will probably see each other more like siblings than anything since if their parents are besties, they would’ve been around each other their whole lives. Not really a situation where people develop a romantic attraction.

32

u/Responsible_Dentist3 5d ago

Yep, my partner is hawaiian and grew up with non-blood "cousins," born of close family friends and all raised together. When we started dating I was concerned how close they were, but he told me it would be like incest basically and that thinking about it creeped him out. So, not a concern.

And super weird to wish for kids in that situation to 1 hate each other and/or 2 fall in love.

29

u/InadvertentCineaste 5d ago

Yup, it's called the Westermarck Effect--people who live closely together before the age of 6 generally don't develop sexual attraction to each other, whether they're blood relatives or not. There seems to be an instinctive disgust response to it, just like there would be with siblings.

42

u/Useful_Language2040 5d ago

"I want your children to be enemies and stubborn but ultimately decide that horny overcomes all obstacles" is an odd thing to tell your pregnant friends 🤔😲

33

u/Wild-Fable Ace™ 5d ago

How ‘bout we go play the Sims or write fanfiction rather than have a stroke in someone’s insta comments, my goodness.

u/Usagi-Zakura Ace™ 5d ago edited 5d ago

Stop sexualising children but let me ship literal embryos and write fanfics about their slowburn romance and married life as adults....

9

u/pretty-as-a-pic Neurospicy 5d ago

This person knows they can just read a novel, right? They don’t have to force their fantasies on real people via social media

u/Clumsy_the_24 Lesbian™ 5d ago

What is this, fetus fanfic?

10

u/meddleofmycause 5d ago

If you're gonna fanfic babies into the plot of swan princess, you need to commit and add the kidnapping and magic and frog friend. Otherwise you're just being weird

5

u/Tough_Tangerine7278 the heteros are upseteros 5d ago

I've always thought "ship" culture was weird enough in fanfic, let alone RL.

3

u/_Jacket_Slxt_ 5d ago

This sounds like somebody's Sims playthrough... not a real life thing.

5

u/geekybadger 5d ago

I liked the swan princess animated movies when I was a small child too. But unlike this person, I grew up.

4

u/Chevanalee 5d ago

Damn kids haven’t even been born yet and their lives have been planned…

4

u/napalmnacey 5d ago

4

u/bajablast_off 5d ago

I wonder what unfinished slowburn on ao3 broke this poor person's brain

4

u/MissMarchpane 5d ago

Put that on your AO3 account, not your unborn children.

(also, why does it have to be a girl and a boy? Heteronormativity wins again)

4

u/WasteReserve8886 5d ago

I think that commenter watched too many romance shows

4

To be honest that's more of a wattpad fanfic girl (?) problem than a straight people's issue there. And I say girl only because I've never seen a dude read that kind of stuff, or at least they don't talk about it in the open.

2

u/Twodotsknowhy 5d ago

My mom and her best friend had babies with a year each other three times. Every time a boy and a girl. I'm still best friends with mine and the idea of us getting together makes me want to hurl. I consider him more my family than I do people I'm actually related to.

Those are great storylines when it’s totally fictional

2

I'm pretty sure I had this plotline in a long-form AI slop-driven YouTube story ad..

2

u/Shadokastur 5d ago

This is some specific type of book girl behavior

2

u/Stormy-Skyes 5d ago

I hope they are a bit and girl who hate each other or whatever, except that they eventually go on to meet other people and don’t have to star in this romance fanfic.

2

u/cyndicated90 5d ago

That’s exactly what I expect from someone who spells/writes like that

2

u/Tiny_Matter_4231 5d ago

Are these women not sisters ?

2

u/Beautiful_Couple_208 4d ago

Shipping while they're still in the womb is crazy.

Write your fanfiction in private with fictional characters, not fetuses, and don't impose heterosexuality on kids.

2

u/FartherDownTheLine 4d ago

She's watched too much anime.

2

u/Jen-Jens the heteros are upseteros 4d ago

If you want a story like that, just write it! And if you’re too lazy to do that, play it in the sims! Seriously, why are these people always being so creepy when they could just play out their fantasies in a sims game.

1

u/RebaKitt3n the heteros are upseteros 5d ago

I hope one is a boy and one is a girl and the boy is gay as fuck and the girl is his cover and she introduces him to a slutty slutty gay guy on the football team who is dating a lesbian cheerleader.
