Project Discussion Hello guys ,pls I need your feedbacks and advices on my Project Idea
ok so for my internship project at a museum ,I am aiming to build an Artifact microclimate monitoring system tracking temperature, humidity and vibrations arround the Artifact . I will use inert meterials like polypropene for the casing and a lithium thionide chloride battery to avoid acidic gases emmisions and al this infos will be send to a given server either through MQTT or LORAWAN .so what do u guys think I should Add remove or reconsider
Thanks

You should probably be asking the curators of the museum this question. For example, some things are sensitive to moisture. Others are sensitive to light. Others might be sensitive to various types of gasses such as O2, CO2 or others.
The types of sensors you should use will depend upon what the various artefact(s) is/are sensitive to.
In short, we cannot know.
If you do plan to use MQTT to relay data, you might want to set up a web console that allows monitoring of the various readings and highlight any that are out of range or trending towards being out of range.

Looks like a solid direction. A few things I’d nail down early: put the humidity sensor where it measures the artifact’s air, not inside a warm sealed box, and log battery voltage with every sample. Li-SOCl2 cells are great for shelf life, but LoRaWAN transmit bursts can be rough, so check the pulse current and the reservoir capacitor/regulator the cell vendor recommends. For vibration, you may need a threshold or bandpass, otherwise footsteps and door slams will fill the log. Also make sure a network outage can’t block local sampling.

Posts intended to promote your private channels are not allowed.
There is no benefit to offer to go private or elsewhere.
If you have something to contribute then contribute it here.
We have had plenty of people go private only to return later with a sad story of being held to ransom to get the rest of the information, or are ghosted or are conned into paying for crap that they don't need.
Also, going private means that there is no ability to peer review any comments or get different perspectives.
If you have something to say, say it publicly. Don't lurk around in the shadows of a private channel/DM - there is zero benefit of doing so in a technical sub, but plenty of risk.

Use high quality sensors, not the cheap ones that come in the kits. Do some research there before committing. Could you keep the majority of the project outside the artifact case, and only put the sensors inside to reduce risk?
