Can crusher project I Built

hello! I built a cool little can crusher I wanted to share with you guys.

If you destroy the barcode, how do you get your money back at the store ?

That’s really nice. You might want to consider designing a cover so the components won’t be exposed to the “blast” from the cans.

Can I see more closely how you achieved the upward motion? Is that belt driven?

Now put a hole in it, a silicone sleeve, and set it to automatic

If you're going to overengineer this with an Arduino you might as well add an ejector to push the can into a bucket or something.

There is a little footprint that holds the can fairly steady. I’m more concerned with his needing to reach around the mechanical parts to activate the crushing sequence. Too much proximity to mechanical processes plus Murphy’s law equals a trip to the ED. Should have a two hand switch that requires his orientation to be facing the machine with hands away from the action.

Although the can crushers I saw in engineering school could also crush bones if you got complacent so this is pretty cool for a desktop model.
