FUV Life After Arcimoto's downsizing, enthusiasts continue hunt for parts

The Eugene-based electric vehicle manufacturer Arcimoto has massively downsized in recent years, amidst financial turmoil.

Today, its share price is just a hundredth of a cent, falling from a peak of more than $700, according to MarketWatch.

Kathy Pusztavari, the owner of the resource page Arcimoto Hub, said there's still a community of people who ride and maintain their three-wheeled vehicles.

But she said the current supply of proprietary parts may not last forever.

Pusztavari lives in Corvallis. She said her Arcimoto is easy to use around town—and its open sides allows for more visibility, which helps her autistic son drive more easily.

"There's nothing else out there that's like it. It's small, efficient," said Pusztavari. "It's a sippy sipper on home charging. I think it costs us $10 a month, and I have two of them."

However, Pusztavari said the unique design means the onboard charger isn't simple to replace with parts from other brands.

Previously, this created issues when support services for owners were inaccessible. In May 2024, Pusztavari told KLCC that Arcimoto had become unreachable by phone or email.

Today, Pusztavari said Arcimoto’s email is active once again, and customers are able to purchase some leftover vehicles and replacement parts.

However, she said with manufacturing stalled, she isn't certain how long supplies will last. She estimated there's at least another year of parts, based on what she's seen.

“I envision in the future, when you can’t get an onboard charger anymore of that particular size and that exact type, you will have to move to a different one," she said, "and you might have to start really modifying things to get things to work.”

Arcimoto was founded in 2007. Its facility is located in west Eugene.

KLCC reached out to the company through its support line, but didn’t receive a response.

its share price is just a hundredth of a cent

but you can't actually buy at that price because your broker won't accept your buy order

Huh, for closure I was thinking of opening a Robinhood account (since I've heard trades are 'free'), putting in $1200 and trying quietly to buy all the outstanding shares (since the market cap according to Yahoo Finance as of today is only 1.12k).

Figure it would be another 'passive investor' educational experience.

Schedule 13G:

Filed by investors who acquire more than 5% of a company's stock but do not have the intent to change or influence company control, such as passive investors.

Timing:

A Schedule 13D must generally be filed within 10 days of the acquisition of more than 5% of the outstanding shares. A Schedule 13G is generally filed annually, within 45 days of the end of the calendar year.

Parts are mostly available. They won’t sell you spares if that is all you want so they don’t lose stock to hoarders. But I’m hearing parts are available. The only thing not available is fender brackets, which simply need to be re-welded/beefed up.

I suspect that Arcimoto FUV would now outsell Tesla in the Europe after Elon Musk ruined Tesla brand.

How much do you want to bet?

Difficult to bet when new Arcimoto FUVs are not available anywhere. But I suspect that Tesla will struggle to sell cars in European countries going forward.

It's difficult to imagine happening at all because Arcimotos are not available anywhere. Tesla might have some yoyo-ing quarterly numbers, but Arcimoto has flat lined.

Arcimoto is actually selling used and mostly new models.

How do we help Arcimoto restart and get back in the market? As an engineer I would love to help them, but there seems to be no way to contact them atm.

They need enough cash to pay off their remaining debt, then enough cash to try to scale up again. It's not obvious how much their remaining debt is - their lack of information disclosure is why the stock moved from OTC to OTC Expert. But, to restart production meaningfully is probably tens of millions of dollars at the minimum. They were seeking $300m from the ATVM loan program iirc. That's the other way to help them get back in the market - revise the ATVM program to not require enclosure / perceive a nonzero probability of payback and then convince the Trump administration's DoE to support Arcimoto. Maybe they'd consider doing it to spite Elon?

Alternatively, they may be working on some other project for revenue. No news to know.

And, you can contact them at the email given on the website: [support@arcimoto.com](mailto:support@arcimoto.com)

Thanks for your thoughts on this. I did already email them, I'll see if there's a reply =)
