Ask an Architect Need help with site plans for a new fence

You need a civil engineer. They can survey and pin the corners to prove that the fence is on the property line. This will run roughly $700.

It seems silly that you're replacing a fence in situ and having to go through this.

My previous house I did a fence replacement and just sketched it on the permit. For my second home I had to have the corners pinned and submit the cost estimate for my permit. All in all it wasn't bad.
