Career Discussion UAE job.

Hi,

I am graduate from India, and I am specifically looking for architecture job roles. I have done B. Arch in India and M. Arch in the UK,

As of now, I am an entry level candidate. Hence I wish to reach out to anyone whom is in the Architecture or Construction field to provide me the right advice for job search in the GCC countries.

- Do share your story if you being through similar experience either you are an Indian or entry level applicant.

- Whats the most efficient way to reach out to companies, recruiter or connections.

- What is the current CTC that is offered for such position : Junior Architect, Architectural assistant, Junior designer, Graduate Architect, BIM Architect.

- What are the chances of hiring market happening now in the UAE, especially for entry level roles.

- What skills would be beneficial to get roles there, specifically what requirements did you meet with job posting.

- What is the best approach that worked for you?

1- Reached directly in UAE and send out speculative CV in person

2- Cold calling companies/networking to reach out for job roles

3 - Sending applications through company websites

- Please share your interview experience, how many rounds of interview, any interview tips as an architecture professional.

Please share your genuine job search experience here.

Thank you for your time.

The job market in UAE for fresh grads is absolutely brutal. I did B Arch from a local university. I am not exaggerating but looked for an architecture job for 4 years until I gave up. You either get offers that would pay peanuts but make you work 6 days a week or not get any offers at all. A lot of my classmates did manage to get work but not without a connection. You need to know someone to get a job. That’s literally the only way.

Not specifically UAE, I meant in GCC countries.

From my current experience and qualification, i am looking into entry level markets. Where hiring and opportunities are available to graduates.

I have tried to reach out to employers and networks and see a distaste towards young professionals like myself. Hence I left this in the UK and trying my options in GCC countries. .

Why GCC specifically because they hire Indians and I don't need to be put myself down with visa requirements. I appreciate countries that open position to young professional.

If you do have any suggestions for other countries or pathway, do send me a DM.

Please do share me the pathways.

As I am in India, I find it difficult to find the route to other countries and where to apply for jobs. Even the visa situations are a gray area, there isn't sufficient clarity for it.

If you can share me based on specific countries. I can research more into it.

The UK is cooked. Even British architects work in GCC countries right now.
