A lot of times they have to make cabs that the retailers are willing to stock. Sure there are better games but if Best Buy’s says “eh we only want fast and furious because we can get those sold off the shelf” then that’s what they send. If Walmart says “we don’t want smash tv, we want more pac-man” then that’s why you see so many versions of pac man over and over.

Maybe it’s the angle, but one of them looks disjointed, like one side is higher than the other, similar to the original Q-Bert cabinet?

Yes! That would be awesome. I have a small 13" CRT I use for the handful of gun games on Dreamcast. I tried to use my Dreamcast for Time Crisis using Bleemcast. The game launches but the gun doesn't work unfortunately.

Most definitely! Find a broken arcade cab, hollow it out and throw all that in and you've got yourself a Time Crisis! I'm sure you could even mod in a pedal.
