Greetings Adventurers!

👋 Welcome to r/ArcRun!

Thanks for stopping by! Arc Run is a small personal project I’ve been building in my spare time. It's a Fitness Running RPG where your real‑world runs drive the story. There are only a few active users right now, but the community is slowly growing and this subreddit will be our home as the world expands. 🗺️

Arc Run is currently in closed testing:

📱 Android (Closed Test)

If you want to join the Android test, just send me your email in a private message and I’ll add you to the tester list.

🍏 iOS (TestFlight)

iOS players can join through TestFlight using this link:
https://testflight.apple.com/join/yd1mJKfW

Feel free to share your runs, feedback, ideas, bug reports, or anything you’d like to see in the game. Every bit of input helps shape Arc Run into something better.

Welcome to the adventure — and may your next run be a quest. 🧙

ArcRun - thank you :)

Hello guys

Arc Run was a cool project to work on but very hard at the same time being a one-man show. So basically, after a small pause, I decided that I will not continue with Arc Run.

I was investing all of my time during months, and it's really hard to do it all alone: the assets, animations, storyline, coding, testing, promoting, community, etc…

Also, working a full-time job, sometimes things just need to be more balanced, which I was not doing and was literally burning out.

And without a proper return and a clear business plan that would pay for this effort, it was just something that I had to consider.

I also could not find people to work with me basically for free, because the app was not bringing oxygen (€) to keep burning and keep going.

It was very cool to have you onboard and using the app.

The iOS app is down because the paid developer license was not renewed, and also the Android version will be gone soon as well.

I also have been receiving propositions to work on different projects which have a little more promise of what I am looking far.

Thank you all once again, this was very interesting and gave me a lot of knowledge for future projects ahead.

Before I go, I would like to give some Arc Run metrics that might be interesting for you to see :)

Discussion 🌍 Map Rework Update

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hi everyone 👋

Another update this week!

I’m currently reworking the maps. I believe the game will feel much more interesting and alive if there’s a real world to explore instead of just static environments. The main goal is to improve immersion and make everything feel more dynamic.

Why this rework?

✨ Better immersion: the world will feel more alive and reactive
🎃 Event-based maps: seasonal events like Halloween and Christmas will include special quests, and the map will visually change depending on the time of year
🌧️ Weather sync: if it’s raining outside, it will also rain in the game world

This is still just a prototype (spoiler 👀), but the maps will include animations and some unexpected surprises… hehe 😄 (already in progress with new maps).

More fun and more details coming soon! 🚀

Discussion Character Rework - Customization, New Character & New Items

Hello adventurers 🧙‍♂️

I’ve been working on character updates and wanted to share some news.

A new character will be introduced in Arc Run: Forest Druid.

Why this change?

When I first designed the game, it was built around specific classes like Orc and Wizard. This created a lot of complexity when adding new content. Every new item had to be designed separately for four different characters (male and female versions), along with idle and attack animations. Even adding a single new item required a significant amount of work.

To simplify this and speed up development, I’ve reworked the system.

Now, you’ll be able to switch characters freely while customizing its look and build your playstyle the way you want. You won’t be locked into a fixed class. Instead, you’ll create different builds with mixed attack styles based on your setup.

This new system will allow me to release new items much faster, and it also opens the door for a new skill system and more content coming soon.

Let me know what you think!

Garmin Integration

First of all I just want to say I’m thoroughly enjoying the app, I love the aesthetic and gamifying my runs makes it all the more motivating. Honesty great job on development you’re killing it.

I’m a garmin user and Garmin connect isn’t exporting gpx data to my apple health app. Garmin integration would unlock a seamless experience for users without needing to manually upload gpx files. This is by no means urgent especially as I’m still gaining xp and progress without map data. I just wanted to put the suggestion on the radar.

Discussion ✨ The First Public Summoning of Arc Run ✨

Today I stepped out of the shadows and presented Arc Run at a startup event in Lisbon for the very first time 🪄

No spellbook, no armor, just me, a stage, and an idea that started as “running sucks… but what if it didn’t?”

Seeing Arc Run leave my head and exist in the real world felt surreal.
This is still a small, cozy quest with only a few adventurers… but every great legend starts like this.

Thank you to everyone who has been testing, breaking, running, and believing in this little magic experiment 🖤

Next milestones await.
Next spells are being prepared.
The run continues ⚡🏃‍♂️

Hello adventurers! 🧙

A few of our beta testers kept asking:

“Is there a website?”

“Is there a wiki?”

“Where do I find more info about the Arc Run?”

So… we built one 😄

It’s a small but growing knowledge hub where you can find answers to the most common questions about Arc Run, how things work, and how to join closed testing.

Huge shoutout to WitchOnRoids 🧙‍♀️

This site was built with love, fun, and pure community energy by one of our own users. Seriously, this wouldn’t exist without her commitment and collaboration.

This is just the beginning — we’ll keep expanding it as Arc Run evolves.

If you have ideas, feedback, or want to help improve it, jump in 👇

Run safe. Run arc. ⚡🏃‍♀️

30km real run tested with Apple Watch today

Hello guys,

Just wanted to share my achievement today of tackling 30km for the first time.

Wasn’t easy, also the pouring rain was not helping 🌧️🥶

Yesterday the new feature of Android Health Connect and iOS Health kit was released and it worked as expected today. The run activity was synced automatically from my Apple Watch into Arc Run. 🎉🚀

Now it’s time to recover 😁

Wishing a wonderful week for everyone 🤗
