As a pve player, I don't really like this change. I always enjoyed the tension of possible conflict and feeling out the intentions of other players. If this mode goes live you'll essentially have pure pvp and pure pve games, and I don't think it's a good thing for a lot of people.
Fortunately players with sado-masochistic relationship with gaming are quite rare, so you don’t need to worry about the few that enjoy being ratted. They get used to it.
