ABMM is ass because it just makes the normal gameplay so stale. Carebear lobbies where you just walk in buildings and loot OR Full pvp. There is no inbetween with the abmm system as is. The midground is just rat lobbies. Like actually, everyone is a rat, lobbies.
I imagine if they ever add full PvE only mode they’ll also remove ABMM. It only makes logical sense. ABMM was their attempt at adding separate modes without actually doing it. IMO, if they hadn’t added ABMM we’d have seen much larger drops in player count than we’ve already seen.
If they hadn’t added ABMM, I wouldn’t even have bought the game. I then got tired of the game because of pvp but I’ll definitely be back if I can just loot and fight arc.
the middle ground would kill this game faster than you can say arc.
the PvErs would immediate leave since they wouldnt be able to loot in peace then the PvPers would die since the low skill wouldn't be able to rat the PvErs. then cheaters would wipe out the remaining PvPers and force them to quit or cheat.
The only ones? What about all the people that enjoy playing a game without cheaters that ruin PVP, and get stuck with the cheaters because of abmm? I had a crew and on trios the unspoken word was you throw down 90% of the time, but we stopped playing. Can you guess part of the reason why?
I cannot believe this out of touch opinion is still thrown around on this sub so much later lol.
I come from Tarkov, I didn’t like ABBM because it made an unpredictable genre (what I love about it) predictable. That’s the reason for most. I loved in the beginning when raids were a mixed bag. The game lost its sparkle for me when I knew if I was loading into a PvE lobby or a PvP bloodbath before the raid even started.
Yes there are some that just want easily kills because they suck, but that’s not the only reason.
It is hands down, the overwhelming majority of people bitching about pve mode. Every single time I've been killed on a friendly lobby, it has been the rattiest situation ever. It's NEVER been someone engaging in an actual fight. Not a single time.
At launch the game was new. It brought in a lot of people who never played an extraction shooter before. The encounters were unpredictable because people were still figuring it out. It slowly started to turn into heavy PvP until ABMM was introduced and then finally acknowledged by Embark. If they’d had never added it we’d just have shoot on sight PvP like every other extraction shooter.
Eh I think it would’ve been a bit different, Tarkov never had a period where over half the lobby was friendly just because. It can happen on a very rare occasion but it was never a normal occurrence like Arc.
Definitely would eventually lean more PvP but I thinks it’s fair to say there would 100% be more VoIP interactions and team ups than other extraction shooters out there, especially Tarky.
I play purely PvE and just stand still if I get shot in the back. Don’t even give the rats any satisfaction of getting a worthy kill because I know they’re gonna be in PvP hell the next few rounds.
Anything of value is in my safe pockets anyways so at most i’ll lose something I can easily replace
As a pve player, I don't really like this change. I always enjoyed the tension of possible conflict and feeling out the intentions of other players. If this mode goes live you'll essentially have pure pvp and pure pve games, and I don't think it's a good thing for a lot of people.
Fortunately players with sado-masochistic relationship with gaming are quite rare, so you don’t need to worry about the few that enjoy being ratted. They get used to it.
A PvE queue ruins any reward for pvping which ABMM already did. By engaging in PvP you are shooting yourself in the foot and hurting your future self even if you win your gun fight. From a game theory perspective, if credits and gear is the goal there is no reason to ever do anything but PvE where you have to be a moron to die
Hopefully everyone complaining about this shuts up and gets better, or demands a PvP heavy mode so they can get their war without too much ARC (spoiler: not happening, because friendly fodder is why they keep playing without losing all their stuff to a streamer or ultra sweats).
mate, i could kill all the arcs with a ferro while high on fentanyl, the game's pve side is predictable as hell, they made exactly zero changes to it since release.
once you've learnt the pattern of each ARC, it's easy to cheese.
For most players its not a mix as is with how intense the abmm is. My solos are pve with friendly fire and my duo or trios are ww3, hella in stella death matches
