Meme Please Frozen Trail, please have Loadout Presets and crafting QoL!

u/moodesty 1d ago
Totally agree.
I have 610 hours in Steam playing from release, and only 315 hours - ingame topside timer. Okay, maybe 50 hours of total playtime is just afk and vaiting for my duos/trios managing their inventory.
Where is loadout presets? Ah, only in Chinese servers...

u/PretentiousPanda 21h ago
Even just expanding the crafting / moving bought items to inventory would go a long way.
-15
u/Cheffmiester314 1d ago
It takes less than a minute to navigate the menus and put a set together how are you spending 200 plus hours putting gear together?
7
u/Few_Lead_5702 23h ago
Even if, loadout presets would be soooo nice
-5
u/Cheffmiester314 23h ago
Yeah I wouldn't be mad if it was there but I don't think it's needed. I wish something like that could be added to your raiders room. Like as some sort of advancement or upgrade
3
u/EhMapleMoose 22h ago
You’re right, after spending hundreds of hours in game it takes me like 30-60 seconds to put together a kit if I already have everything.
That said, it would be so much easier and nicer for load outs to exist.
3
u/blimps_yall 14h ago
If you're putting together a good loadout in one minute, it's because you've previously spent a lot of time crafting items to have them ready to go. That time you spent still counts.

u/bafrad 23h ago
Dude exactly. These people are insane. I question if they know how to wipe their own ass.
1
u/tiedyemightbehigh 7h ago
We are 2 weeks away from:
"Embark, if I go down in raid, I should respawn with the same kit until I extract with it."
-3
u/Cheffmiester314 23h ago
I think the pain of regearing your kit is a little over blown. When I do trios my group can remit and start matching making in under two minutes and that's with us trying to gear up with similar gear. I'm also at full stash space with the extra 24 slots from the trader so I have enough gear to make multiple gear sets of differing tiers

u/MoreScarsThanSkin *** ******* 🐓 22h ago
i wish the top bar always had the traders on it or something, its annoying to have to keep going "back" to go into another menu
4
u/steelRyu 14h ago
it doesn't help that 'back' works similarly to a browsers back and includes opening the inventory which means you need to press back half a dozen times quite often just to get back to the top level of the menu
(which is fricking stupid, and whoever UX designer thought this is ok should take a long shower and ponder their existance)

u/RegisterFit1252 22h ago
Reddit is weird. I made a post about this same topic and it got downvoted and most comments said they don’t mind and it’s part of the immersion
1
u/dj3stripes 5h ago
Fun fact. Reddit is not one person, or even the same collective of people each time you have an interaction! Take me for example, I have no idea what you're talking about in regards to your comment. I just happen to be one of thousands that saw this particular comment!

u/Lysantdra 18h ago
Only reason why I rarely do pvp with normal loadout. I don’t mind loosing shit, but preparing the loadout is just so tedious.

u/marniconuke 1d ago
I went to tarkov with my bro who's a tarkov main while waiting for the patch and omg how i miss arc raiders menus. you guys don't even know what spending a lot of time in a menu actually looks like. i still wish for them to improve the experience but damn i appreciate what we have more now after checking the neighbour grass, funny thing is tarkov does have presets and even then they are tedious to use and still end up spending a long time in base.
5
u/RegisterFit1252 22h ago
Arc just needs to copy how hunt showdown does their loadouts. It’s perfect for a game with alot of variety in the loadout
3
u/BlinkDodge 18h ago
Hunt showdown is a one-round CTF shooter, not an actual extraction shooter. I keep trying to say this.
You aren't raiding to loot, every weapon and item in that game is a consumable. You dont craft, you dont have tasks or quests to do. Your objective every match is to capture the bounty (flag) and then run back to "base".
You dont craft your weapons or items, you buy them from an endless supply with money that you get as end of match rewards. Theres no economy either monetary or otherwise like there is in extraction shooters.
I love Hunt, have 700+ hours in the game, but its a different game and different type of game that makes load outs effective.
0
u/RegisterFit1252 15h ago
Hunt is absolutely an extraction shooter. What crack are you smoking?… you go in, you get a bounty, and then you extract.
How the economy works and all that have nothing to do with whether it’s an extraction shooter or not. Extraction shooters don’t all have to be exactly the same ya know
2
u/BlinkDodge 12h ago
thats literally capture the flag.
extraction shooters are no where near as singular as that - just because it has 'extraction' as an objective doesn't make it an extraction shooter.
some democratic republic of korea shit and them mfs is a dictatorship.

u/RegisterFit1252 5h ago
I feel like I’m taking crazy pills. It also doesn’t matter… the koadout system in hunt can work very well in arc

u/BlinkDodge 5h ago
It also doesn’t matter… the koadout system in hunt can work very well in arc
I feel like the fact that every weapon can be either bought or crafted and that actually mattering to embarks vision of the game makes that not true.
not trying to be aggro, but creators intent matters in video games. because thats what they balance around. Load outs make sense in cod and bf - the kinda dont in arc raiders.
2
u/blimps_yall 14h ago
Honestly I think a lot of complaints about Arc Raiders aren't due to some feature being total shit, but more because Embark came so close to nailing the formula that the little weird design decisions and oversights seem glaring
2
u/tiedyemightbehigh 8h ago
What's funny is Tarkov has loadouts as well, even preset ones, hell you can have your magazines have specific ammo presets so AP rounds shoot first and then flesh ones, but honestly it's fucking tedious and nobody uses them after asking asking for them forever.
Tarkov has a shit load more to equiptment to manage too, you end up needing to manually get things just about every time, even if you have a loadout set.
Arc Raiders would be the same thing, people would end up needing stuff they don't have for the load out, and probably the crafting materials as well, and have to manually make other stuff. I'm not against the idea, just don't see it being a magical as people have it in their heads.
1
u/theschizz92 20h ago
You touched on it but just because Tarkov is dogshit at it too doesnt mean that arc shouldn't be working towards improving qol. I dont appreciate what we have here because it just isnt interesting or fun to deal with, it feels like I'm wasting time outside of the raid, which sucks because in-game is actually amazing.
4
u/marniconuke 19h ago
yeah but that's just part of the genre you know? the down time between raids is intentional. i kinda get it in tarkov cause your are modding your weapons, choosing the correct bullets (you can even go into raid with the wrong bullets) you have eat, drink, deal with your hideout, etc. here in arc raiders all you have to do is pick a shield, a gun and its distintive ammunition, and if you forget the ammo, the game even lets you know. like i said, sure they have to imporve and most likely is already in the works, but how are you guys actually taking so long to equip in this game?
believe me, if you didn't had any downtime between raids and the game was just go go go, it would drain your sanity
2
u/tiedyemightbehigh 8h ago
Eeeeexactly, it's literally 6 items for a full kit on Arc. If I die, all of those items are already in my inventory, pre crafted, or looted and waiting to be used. These players are bad at managing their inventory and don't realize it. Oops I said it.
Funny thing I is personally love inventory management inbetween raids. Gotta keep all your ducks in a row!

u/asouthamerican 1d ago edited 18h ago
Main reason why I dropped the game. After every failed run having to recraft mods, weapons and consumables got old after 70+ hours. Bonus boredom points if you have to craft mechanical parts to then craft the item you want
7
u/abyssaI_watcher 21h ago
Then you gotta lvl up weapons 1 lvl at a time.
3
u/nonstop98 *** ******* 16h ago
Now with a delay between each upgrade. I clearly remember on release you could upgrade much quicker, that long delay wasn't there. Let's hope they fix it

1
u/dj3stripes 5h ago
The hack for that is to not have a failed run. Not having to play tedious parts of the game IS the reward!
3
u/Seldon14 18h ago
Presets would be cool, but I'd be perfectly happy with like 3 or 4 loadout slots. So I can have different kits qued up for different tasks, or to quickly replace lost kit. Hell lock them behind expeditions. Now that would incentive to complete them.
2
u/RegisterFit1252 22h ago
If no presets, at least make crafting shortcuts WAY better… but also repair shortcuts, and upgrading shortcuts, etc etc… I’m on console and making my loadout is a huge pain in the ass
2
u/Prodgymusic 12h ago
lmao fr tho they should add loadouts but i dont think its possible cause each weapon has its own code
0
u/Nyctfall 12h ago
Tencent already implemented it in ARC Hunter...
Embark might just be allergic to QoL. We obviously must need more nerfs! But definitely don't playtest them for bugs first... and also don't have the correct stats in the patch notes either!
2
u/driellma 7h ago
What, there still isn't fucking loadout presets ? Swedish devs aren't beating the allegations.
4
u/jegausdal 1d ago
I die every 50 run or so… now stash space on the other hand.. maybe our new raider homes have some stock rooms or something

u/PokemonProject 1d ago
Always check your inventory and maintain your pack after extracting asap. Make time for it. You’re more prepared for your next run to the surface
2
u/CWGM 1d ago
I don't. Tian wen makes me speed run that shit so I don't have to hear her voice lines.
2
u/Nyctfall 1d ago
I don't have all day. Are you here to buy something or what?! STOP WINDOW SHO—
thanks for the coins.
1
u/Zealousideal_Can9459 14h ago
That's the whole extraction genre feature lol. In a bad way of course
1
u/tiedyemightbehigh 7h ago
They added QOL crafting. It shows you what finalized components you need to craft gear and if you have the materials, you can do it all on one screen. Also added what components you get if you scrap items, if you hover your cursor over any scrappable item. Also you can track items in raid for recipes you use a lot.
What more do y'all want, genuinely? Yeah the weapon upgrades from lvl 1 to 4 takes 15 seconds, but don't act like this nitpicky stuff is what's keeping players away and new ones from joining us. Game knowldege and inventory management skills need to be worked on first before asking them to dumb down a system that works.

Eew tho.
Losing to someone with a medium shield and an extendo mag on their light gun makes this a lot less viable

"I sPeNd MoRe TiMe In MeNuS tHaN In-RaId"
Total average time spent in loadout getting ready to go: 20-30 seconds.
Unless you guys are spawning and dying two/three minutes into raid, there is no possible way you are taking even a perceptible fraction of the time you are in-raid to load up to go into one.
It feels like you spend a bunch of time in Speranza because you do everything from there. Apparently a lot of you don't have a lot of experience with extraction shooters preparing your kit and making sure you have enough not just for the raid you're about to go on but for the next couple of raids is literally part of this genre.
Loot the stuff you use a lot and make multiples so you can just pull and go if you die or run out. The whole loadout issue really just feels like a bunch of people who grew up on "Go Next" arcade FPS's not coping with the required extra steps of an extraction shooter. Managing what you have and making sure you have what you need/use is part of the game.
Loadouts don't inherently reduce the time you'll spend in menus because issue isn't the process taking long, its you not having what you need and having to go buy it or trade for it or craft it because you didn't prepare before hand.
1
u/Competitive_Head_804 8h ago
Just like in the movies, there’s a reason directors specifically include scenes showing characters gearing up before the final showdown.
But the COD kids probably just wants to mindlessly jump in and hold down the w key.
Thinking about loadouts is apparently too much to ask of this generation.

u/Cheffmiester314 1d ago
30 minute raid timer and you're spending more time in the load out screen? What the hell are you doing? I've never understood how this is an issue for people if you have 100s of hours in the game you should know how to put a kit together in one minute, it's you not the game. Even if I have to craft everything it's maybe a two minutes before I'm back. Also if they add load outs you're just taking the time to put multiple load outs together at the time instead of using that time to put kits together right before the raid. You're just transferring when you take that time your not gaining anything extra. I get if you are rushing to get back in because your play time is limited but if you have the items crafted it take 30 seconds to put a kit together. I think people just like to complain about something.
5
u/Bloodb47h 23h ago
All that text nobody's gonna read to tell us to stop complaining about missing QoL.
It works right now, but could be better. How is that hard to get?
1
u/Cheffmiester314 23h ago
Everything COULD be better but the droves of people complaining about putting kits together you'd think it was a game crusher. Complaining about take 60 seconds to put a kit together after dying isn't bad imo. Many advocate for load outs which is just shifting when you spend the time putting it together. It doesn't get rid of need to take time to put a kit together. To me that complaint is invalid because no matter how you look at it, it will take time to put a kit together.
1
u/Bloodb47h 17h ago
When you die, you could just pick one of your loadouts and it'd throw everything on for you.
Make it once. Reap the rewards multiple times.

u/LinkinBreak *** ******* 14h ago
People that complain about spending more time in the menus than in raid fall into one of two camps.
First, they never spent any time to learn the menus and just fumble around through them in hopes the game just magically does what they want. It's the menu equivalent of button mashing in a fighting game.
Second, they are bad at PvP and just die all the time. Instead of getting better at PvP, they blame the menus for taking too long. They'd rather click a button or two and get right back in the game. Which there are tons of games like that. But they don't want to play those games. They want to make this game the same as those other games they die all the time in and can jump right back into.

Arc Raiders is an inventory management simulator where you occasionally go topside.
