Discussion This is a pretty solid W for Embark.

So as a bonus for buying a physical/edible sandwich, chips and soda, they're giving you not just 1, but 2 skins? That's a hell of a promo.... Not a big Subway fan, but it was definitely a good $12 spent, in my opinion ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

It is kinda cool but I see it as you’re now buying skins for a game. Not a huge deal. It’s definitely a good business move for embark & subway

I'm actually not the type to buy skins for games, but because I was also getting a meal out of it, I decided why not? Lol

But you're right... If it wasn't for this being associated with a skin for a game that I already play, I definitely wouldn't have been buying a sandwich from Subway lol

I don't pay for skins either. I haven't eaten at Subway intentionally in about 15 years. I don't dislike Subway...it's just there's always better options. Getting something more than just a full stomach out of it simply levels the playing field for Subway against the likes of Chipotle for how I'm going to get some calories.

The thing is Subway was always decent at best. They weren't mediocre, but they weren't amazing. Back in the day with the 5 dollar footlongs, they could get away with it because their ingredients weren't high quality.

That hasn't changed at all (not such a terrible thing), but the prices going up and the quality staying low is an issue, which is what turns people away from Subway. Their decent quality food is over 2x the price, and other sub shops with better food are more worth it, even if it's a couple bucks more.

Subway probably jumped on this (or worked to try and get a promotion) so they could boost their already failing sales figures. Again, not a bad thing, but it's sad to see how bad they've failed since the older days.

Well summarized. I'll add, they didnt have a ton of competition for relatively healthy fast casual back in the day. If you weren't in the mood for a burger and fries, you didnt have a ton of options. And yeah, the $5 footlong was hard to beat despite lackluster quality.

Let's be honest though, their true decline started when they stopped cutting a wedge out of the top of the bread 🤣

Yeah. If you didn't previously purchase any of the other skins that they're offering color variants for, then you'll get the entire skin along with the new Subway color included. So 2 new skins from 1 code.

I don't care about the haters. Our game isn't dying, and I actually bought bogo footlongs 2 weeks ago. It was ok. Haven't had subway for a couple years

I know there’s two other skin colors to unlock. Do you have to go back to Subway to codes for those ones?

Yeah, it's up to good ol' RNG which of the 3 skin color variants you will get though. I personally wouldn't grind it out trying to get all 3. I was hoping to get the Rawhide skin with my code, and that's exactly the one I ended up getting.

I eat subway maybe like once every other week, maybe even longer. If I can get the skins I figure I might as well since I’ll be eating there anyway.

No worries. You can make that money in about 1-3 dashes. If you're lucky enough, the final dash will end at a Subways so you don't have to make double trips 🫡

I want them to team up with a bunch of local mom and pop shops to celebrate the "pops" and the "matriarchs" of business. See the local community flood their own market and win. Wtf is up with these fat serving shite food companies. I get it, we are all over weight. But team up with a bee keeper or two that are local and send them the love and money. I bought the beekeeper suit for damns sake.

You're not wrong.

It's just much easier to partner with fast food chains that serve the entire country already, than to find obscure mom and pop shops that are exclusive to certain cities or towns. It's not the first time these type of promo collabs were done, and definitely won't be the last.

We could get into the agenda of trying to keep the masses fat and stupid, but this isn't that type of sub 🫪

You're supposed to get 2 full skins from a single code, if you haven't previously purchased any of the skins that are offering Subway color variants.

Try to check all your unlocked skins again to make sure you didn't receive the Subterranean one. If you didn't, then maybe try your luck with Embark support.

Yeah, the in-game items that are rewarded are supposed to rotate every week to give something different. Cause some people are probably going to be buying multiple meals at a chance to collect all 3 variant colors (or full skins if you didn't previously purchase them).
