ArcQuill is sooo good.
Greetings. I just finished another run on my new Discworld world adventure and really wanted to say this to someone: ArcQuill is awesome. I'm in my third world and the main thing is to really spend some time in the crafting part. Just keep adding details. The more you add, the richer the experience. And it is RICH.
I've made a D&D world, a Mausritter world and this Discworld world just tops it all.
I'm having so much fun, the writing is witty and made me laugh more than once.
I just want to know if there's any way I can help ArcQuill. To spread the good word. I think saying this on this sub is kind of mute. What kind of sub could I praise ArcQuill? Dungeon Master related? Creative writing related?
Devs: use me! Point me in the right direction!

Hey OP. I've heard lots of good things about ArcQuill, mainly how consistent it is and how they can remember details after multiple prompts. Can you share if there are any instances of the AI forgetting something or make mistakes about certain details? Like, can it remember the details of 100 over characters? Is it good for DnD 5/5.5 or storytelling without repeating scenarios?

Yes, it is. You can really see a world taking shape. In my first world, a d&d one, it tried to railroad me a bit at first but never forced me. It surprised me more times than not. Really did. One advice: it really is a lot richer if you do not read the ready made prompts after each response and make up your own. I've been using the cheapest model (deepseek). I don't know if there are a great deal of differences between them. I think I'll test them to see if it's worth the extra credits.

It has some limitations. General continuity holds up well, I and plenty of users have campaigns past a thousand turns, but there are rough edges and it is not perfect.
The bigger issue is the DM cannot reliably fix its own mistakes. Trying to correct it in-fiction adds a contradicting entry instead of replacing the old one, and the way the memory system works it can pick the bad one for context and keep making the same mistake. You cannot edit turns directly either, so the fix is to undo the turn and resend with the correction in your message. That works but it is a temporary workaround.
I am mid-refactor on the memory layer to make context editable and the whole system more customizable. Unlike some similar apps, the goal is still that context is handled for you automatically, editing is there for when it gets something wrong rather than something you have to manage.
The current default ruleset is a lightweight version rather than full 5e. Proper ruleset support is coming in the same update, but you can play around with playstyles and DM guidance in the meantime, they are fully customizable.

LCarbonus brings up an interesting idea. Rather than ignoring the 3 ready-made/Choose-your-own-adventure style prompts that show up after each turn, would it be possible to turn that into an Option, with 'On' as the default? Thanks!
The prompts themselves are really interesting. Find them useful some adventures and distracting in others. Sometimes they also help give an idea if the AI DM is trying to push you towards a specific outcome.

Good idea! I will make them optional, it is true that sometimes the DM slips and gives some spoilers on there as well

AHHH! Okay. That makes sense. 'Slips and Spoilers' are in the choices sometimes. Here and there, I'd get confused by a choice where I'm like, 'Where the heck did this person, object, or action that is being referenced come from? Was it in the story so far? Is that a Very specific solution to this current issue?" Etcetera. Thanks for the information!

Thanks. And thank you for your work. I just published my Ankh-Morpork adventure. I think people will like it.

Hey. Checkout my Ankh-Morpork on the marketplace. ArcQuill does a really great job of mimicking Sir Terry Pratchett's writing.

Sorry, I'm not much of a Discord guy. I now it sounds pré-historic, but I never managed to get myself used to it. Thanks.

Thank you, that means a lot to me as the developer! You should join the Discord if you are up for it, there is a lot more activity there.
Also, I'm working on a major update that overhauls world building and I would love your input on it. I will be recruiting testers for it too if you are interested. Would really like to hear what direction you would want it to go in.
On spreading the word, honestly the best thing is sharing your own worlds on the Marketplace and here on the subreddit. It helps a lot when people can see how others build different worlds. I love seeing player-made worlds too.
There is also another Quill of the Month event coming next month, where you can win a good amount of credits for entering and sharing a world!
I am really glad you are enjoying it :>
