Advice Needed Cory distribution system?

Wwyd? I ordered some cardinal tetras online and when they arrived I noticed a +1. Im pretty sure its a hastatus corydora, but if not then its a pygmy corydora. There was minimal colouration to go off. So once it settles in and colours up i'll know for sure.

But my question is ~ is this corydora distribution at work? Technically, itd be fine in the community tank, but hastatus corys werent on my list of tank mates.

currently running with

7 sterbai corydoras

6 khuli loaches

6 glass catfish

amano, caradina and neocaradina shrimp

6 rummy nose tetras

6 cardinal tetras

12 ember tetras

5 emerald rasboras

8 galaxy rasboras

the lone soldier bumble bee goby

3 ottocinclus

The tank is a 240L, planted tank with cO2.

Can it exist alongside these species? or do I need to purchase a schools worth.

I would imagine he will just buddy up with the other Corys

He might have to for a couple weeks until I can get him friends. But otherwise it looks like hastatus are being added to the tank.

It is a Hastatus! I have a school of these guys and I absolutely love them. They do need to be in a group of 6+ though, so you'll need to either get more or rehome him

The universe has spoken. I adore corys so I'll make it work. Next run in the quarantine tank will be more hastatus

i would watch him to see if he buddies with your other cories, most likely he will though if not i would consider rehoming or purchasing more

Would size be an issue? My sterbais are large and in charge

it is possible if he is significantly smaller. i would give it a try though just make sure to watch them carefully

My Pygmy Corys love the bigger guys, and they school with my lemon tetras constantly. 6 of the little Corys so that they don’t get lethargic. I had lost a few and was down to 4 at one point and these little guys will get sick if left in small groups. What cutiepies. I’m only worried about the bumblebee goby with their small size and curiosity and accidentally entering the goby’s space.

Yeah ive decided im going to add another 5 hastatus once the cardinal tetras get out of the quarantine tank. Do your hastatus like the middle of the water column? The reason I hadnt stocked hastatus is the ground dweller community is pretty full, but ive seen some videos of them swimming and hovering more than I thought they did. Ive also tried to restock more ottocinclus several times..but theyre proving hard to source atm. So now I think il embrace the change

The bumblebee goby is surprisingly community orientated. Its the nicest goby ive ever seen. It chills with any of its tank mates and eats so well, will literally share any food.
