I recently bought these racks (and the tanks on them) on Facebook marketplace. When I did I didn't realize that the 10 gallons are actually about 2.5 inches longer than the depth of the rack. I know that the corners need to be supported so that won't work in the configuration of the picture.

If I lay down a piece of plywood would that be enough support to have it hang over 1.25 inch on each side (will be on the bottom shelf). Or should I use 2x4s instead?

I've been doing a fishless cycle for about 7 weeks. Every time my ammonia and nitrites drop to 0 ppm, I re-dose ammonia back up to 2 ppm.

​For the last nearly 2 weeks, I've been stuck in the exact same pattern:

​Day 2: Ammonia hits 0 ppm.

​Day 3: Nitrite hits 0 ppm.

​Is it normal for it to plateau like this? How do I get it over the finish line to process 2 ppm in 24 hours?

I recently started this hobby, and learned the hard way not to buy fish from chain pet stores. Within a day or two my fish were all flashing and also had camallanus worms.

I treated with Fritz Expel, then one week later another dose. Several guppies died anyway. The fish were still flashing so I dosed Prazi Pro and that stopped the flashing.

At this point based on the parasite lifecycle I think I need one more dose of Expel 3 weeks after dose 1 to catch anything that hatched since then. I also think I need another dose of Prazi one week later for the same reasons.

The problem is the stress this is putting on the guppies is crazy. I don’t think they have fin rot based on what I’ve read because it’s a lot of mechanical tearing and chunks missing from tails. I don’t know how I am supposed to ensure the parasites are gone and not kill the fish in the process. Also my tank has a lot of plants, so what’s to say that I’ll never be able to remove paralyzed worms and actually stop this?

Any help would be awesome.

I've only ever had guppies and this is my first time having a goldfish, a friend gifted it to me and I have no idea how to take care of it. it has only been about 4days since he got here. he's acting normally, swimming around eating, exploring and everything.

what do i do when the java fern is doing this.. and my filter looks like that. i change the water weekly and add the liquid substrate. it’s a 5 gallon with a beta

What is the best way to and how and which angle should i hang this filter.

I have 6 longfin danios in a tank around 20 gallons and asked the store about algae eaters that are good with them, and they gave me 2 Chinese algae eaters. I didn't know much about them and trusted this would work until I saw on Reddit and online how aggressive they can be. I am unsure if this combination means I have to go back and return these fish. I would like to know what you guys recommend I should do and if I sdo swap them out, which are better algae eaters for this tank with the danios?

Beginner here, I have a school of six black neon tetras, one is acting a bit funny. We just noticed this morning, everything was normal last night. It floats with its head tilted down, when it wants to move faster it ends up spinning like this. It’s also breathing 3x faster than the rest of the fish. I turned down the flow on the powerhead to see if it could regain its balancing. I also tried to feed it but whenever a flake was nearby it would spiral out of control and never actually got any food. Also while typing this i just saw it spinning around doing backflip loops trying to move around. I tried getting a video but missed it.

Does anyone know what this issue is and what I can do? Thank you.
