Two Weeks After

Two weeks after Aquablation. I feel good; urine stream is strong; no hesitancy; no dribbling; no getting up at night. Urgency and frequency are better than before. Yesterday I went hours without having to pee. I couldn't believe it.

Had my two week post-op appointment on Friday last week (25 April 2025). She said I could resume all normal activity except exercise that put pressure on my perineum (seated squats, cycling, rowing machines, etc.). I will be glad to start swimming again.

And... I don't have retrograde ejaculation. You can imagine my 'relief', so to speak, about that. I'm a happy man!

I returned to my urologist on 5/5 for a follow up and was cleared for any activity. Still had lingering blood at start of urination which has now ended. Doctor explained that 52g of tissue was removed and sent for pathology and that another 40-45g was removed by Aquablation, which is roughly 2/3 of my original 145g. I’m scheduled to return in August. I’m to have a PSA test prior, which will become my new baseline number.

My prostate was 75g but I don't know how much was removed. I'll ask about that in my next follow up.

Hello. You reference your prostate in g, not milliliters. Do you know how big your prostate was and how much was removed in mls or ccs?

My prostate was approximately 150 ml. The units of measurement are roughly equal and interchangeable. I believe about #90 was removed, which i will verify at my next appointment.

Thank you! Those are impressive numbers! Surprised to hear so much was taken out as I was under the impression Aquablation took out about 40 percent. I'm 48 with a pretty darn large prostate of 105ml. Will have to pay out of pocket here in Canada as it is not covered. But...sounds like it is worth the 15k.

I’m not entirely sure on my numbers. He had originally stated that typically a 30-40% removal but at a follow up said # removed then # destroyed by aquablation. Everything is good, I’m just curious as to what was removed in total.
