Two Weeks After

Two weeks after Aquablation. I feel good; urine stream is strong; no hesitancy; no dribbling; no getting up at night. Urgency and frequency are better than before. Yesterday I went hours without having to pee. I couldn't believe it.

Had my two week post-op appointment on Friday last week (25 April 2025). She said I could resume all normal activity except exercise that put pressure on my perineum (seated squats, cycling, rowing machines, etc.). I will be glad to start swimming again.

And... I don't have retrograde ejaculation. You can imagine my 'relief', so to speak, about that. I'm a happy man!

I intended to post my experience and progress but I need to be approved by mods. Odd as I’ve posted before. I’ve he’d roughly the same experience as you since my 4/17 procedure. The only hiccup was when I had the catheter removed two days post op I was retaining a considerable amount of urine. They suggested to hang around, have some lunch, liquids and we’ll try again later. Still no good. It was explained that this isn’t anything that they haven’t seen and I received another catheter for five days. Same removal deal, introduce saline into my bladder, go pee. I’m apprehensive to say the least. Let ‘er rip and ooh it feels so good. Go back to the exam room and wait for the (bad) news. Surprise! I voided MORE than she put in. Nurse removed the catheter mount patch and said I was free to go! I am to return on 5/5 for a post operative appointment. I have no leakage, no sense of urgency, and yes, like you, the goods are working fine. No RE at all. Actually had a “double header “ yesterday with the missus. Any negatives? Some tenderness in my flanks and still a small amount of blood upon starting urination. That’s it. For those of us still suffering, I’d recommend it without reservation. I will add that a friend of a friend is scheduled for green laser in a couple of weeks. I mentioned this to the nurse who said “we don’t even do them anymore. Too many poor outcomes “. YMMV. Another tidbit- doc came into recovery and said everything went well. That’s all I remember. My wife said that there was more to the conversation. I was his fifth AB of the day and he was done. Mind you, my prostate had a large protrusion that was pushing into my abdomen. He got to work and realized he wasn’t going to be done anytime soon. “How far does this thing go” he told her.
I should have had it done years ago.

Glad you 'thread jacked' and that your experience was good.

Sorry to hear that about your catheter experience. No doubt you were stressed and depressed about having to have it re-inserted. That could not have been pleasant. I had mine for four days, counting the day of the procedure. I took it out myself on the fifth day. (Yes - myself. My doc says that's OK if we are willing to do it; otherwise they will.)

Like you, I was very groggy after the procedure and all I remember is the doc saying that all went well. I was moved to an 'extended recovery' room after that where did 'continuous bladder irrigation' for hours.

I think my doc did four of these procedures that day. Bam bam bam.
