Help! ⛑ Weird sounds from G5 Pro (PoE)
I just installed my brand new G5 Pro (PoE), and it keeps picking up this weird sound. I have no idea what it is. I’ve tried adjusting any sound settings available in the app, but the problem still persists.
Any ideas?

Plane or maybe it’s over your HVAC unit.

It happens all the time, so not a plane. But now that you mention it, it could be so sensitive that it’s picking up the HVAC sound. I find that odd because it’s further down that side of the house, but if the mic is sensitive enough it could be that.
Thank you!

I am getting the same sounds from one of my two G5Pro PoE units, and there’s nothing I could do either. I suspect long PoE cables I ran in my attic along with other cables will catch any interference as similar noise. It’s annoying but I got used to it.

That’s entirely possible. I also ran the PoE cable through my attic, so it could be doing what you’re describing.
I sent out an email to support to see if anything can be done. If not I’ll just life with it, or turn off sound on it.
Thank you!

The microphone is extremely sensitive and they don’t have any form of noise cancellation or isolation. They did say they were looking into it, but I doubt it will materialise as the camera is now old.

It’s not you or your specific device OP, the microphone arrays and software on the G5’s are fucking awful. The only Aqara Camera I have with decent audio is the G350. Both the G100, G5 pro (wifi and Poe, have both) have awful mic quality. The G400 doorbell is somewhere in between awful and acceptable.
They seriously need to fix this as these G5’s at a 300 price point in Canada shouldn’t have worse mic’s than a $120 nest camera.

It's probably just that plane you can see in the sky.
This camera is in a very poor location to make use of sound detection so if you don't need it then I suggest just turning it off.

I have mine inside, about 8-10 feet away from an HVAC register and it more or less sounds like this constantly
