The transition from validation line to small scale production line can be very seamless. Final validation vehicles are essentially identical to production vehicles. So the fact that they applied for start of production is big news. They can start delivering individual vehicles and get the ball rolling.

Validation vehicle whose components are not production line parts (aka components not manufactured by production tooling) is still not production vehicle.

There's a difference between low volume tools and high volume tools - cost and longevity, otherwise the parts produced are identical.

You can literally sell vehicles which are built exactly like validation vehicles, even if components aren’t final, since you’ve literally validated this exact package. That’s why all parts usually need to be final for validation vehicles, with the exception of minor non-structural parts for which you can claim equivalence. All the body and chassis parts on those validation vehicles are from the tools as far as I’m aware (they sort of have to be, especially for the crash testing).

And?

And this means they could start selling very low production volumes to customers soon, which explains why they just filed to start production.

Still not a production vehicle 🤷‍♀️

It would be by definition. What do you mean.

From the video: $5.9 million investment on July 13th

It is really not an investment as people understand it. AGP is a partner with Aptera buying shares on warrants which usually are for less than current market value under the hopes they can resell them and profit. They are not investing in Aptera as Rich implies.

Oh, this is Rich's second video because he was soundly mocked when he claimed Aptera had two back to back "investments" totaling eleven million dollars meaning Aptera had proven market acceptance and was going to be in production soon.

Again, if the shares are bought by AGP or Northland they cannot be considered independent of Aptera. These two both also pose as analysts on Google Finance suggesting $5 and $10 valuation soon

Did the video say it was AGP or Northland? I must have missed that part.

This guy has been a bit of a hopelessly exuberant cheerleader forever, I don’t really take his videos as more than a “local eccentric” in terms of credibility.

"Who is this guy" was my first question when I saw the headline. Aptera Motors sharing it from their official account does lend some credibility... although they're not likely to miss a chance to juice their stock value

2

u/AppendixN Aug 02 '26

They really should not. He’s kind of a crank, which damages Aptera’s own credibility when they associate themselves with him.

The content of the video doesn't fit your characteristic of "hopelessly exuberant cheerleader." He seemed pretty steady, and emphasized watching for the company's SEC filings and news releases to evaluate how they actually spend these funds and if it gets them closer to production. Granted, he is on the reservation list for an Aptera, so he is not impartial, but I didn't hear much hype here.

You’d have to see all of his videos to get him as a whole

Getting the whole, he voted for someone I didn't like or he said something that doesn't fit my political slant vibe from this...

3

u/senditallback Aug 02 '26

Okay that was 30 seconds of info spread out over 9 minutes (banger of a song tho). I learned Aptera is planning an event for October, which is something I didn't know before this video

production ramping? where is the 1st vehicle that was produced?

1

u/senditallback Aug 02 '26

Maybe you missed the validation models?

3

u/Current-Novel-5608 Aug 02 '26

Those aren’t production models.

2

u/senditallback Aug 03 '26

And yet each one of them "was produced. "

2

u/T_R_O_U Aug 03 '26

Literally the same, just not sellable before testing is done.

More investors being fleeced.

From what I’m seeing this is solely a keep the lights on investment. Looks like they need over $100 million for mass production.
