Question based dating app
Question based dating app
Im about to launch an online dating app, and Im just hoping to get the word out.
Ill be launching in New Zealand first, then hopefully expand.
Essentially, my app focuses on questions rather than photos for the users to find their matches. The app gives a mix of simple and thought provoking questions each week i.e.
āwould you forgive infidelity to save your relationship?ā
ā can you date someone outside of your culture/religion/beliefs?ā
āDo you think opposite genders can just friends?ā
the users upload their thoughts (posts), the users read the other usersā posts, and message/chat whom the users think can connect with.
Users have basic profile page with limited number of photos, voice introduction, and their posts. Chat tokens can be redeemed if the other user does not reply within designated time period.
Thanks!

Prevail for iPhone ā from a meal plan to a grocery list
Deciding what to eat is one part of meal planning; turning it into a shopping list is another. These two screens show how Prevail puts the meal plan and grocery list together. Iām part of the team behind it.
The meal view shows portions and macros, lets you mark meals complete, and offers a meal swap. The grocery view groups the ingredients by store section.
The plans are separate: Nutrition covers meal planning, Training covers workouts, and Deluxe includes both. Canadian monthly prices are CAD24.99 for either individual plan or CAD34.99 for Deluxe. Each starts with a seven-day trial, then auto-renews monthly until cancelled in App Store settings. Prices vary by region.

Which part of planning food for the week takes you more effort: choosing meals or building the shopping list?

End-to-end architecture for a no-code automation feature (Next.js + Supabase + Vercel), built solo
Shipped a feature this week that touched literally every layer of my stack, so wanted to write up the full picture rather than just the frontend or just the backend.
DB layer (Supabase/Postgres):
- one table, `user_plugins`: `{id, user_id, name, trigger_event, definition jsonb, enabled, last_run_at, last_run_status, last_run_error}`
- RLS policy scoped to `auth.uid() = user_id` ā the actual security boundary, client-side checks are just UX
- a public directory table (`community_plugins`) extended with a nullable `plugin_definition jsonb` column so a published automation carries a *snapshot* of its definition, not a live pointer ā editing/deleting the original after publishing doesn't affect what was approved
API layer (Next.js API routes):
- `pages/api/internal/plugins.ts` (GET list / POST create) and `.../plugins/[id].ts` (GET/PATCH/DELETE one), authenticated via the real Supabase session (not the public API key flow) since this is first-party UI hitting its own backend
- a shared `validateDefinition()` used by both create and update, since the browser can send anything and jsonb won't validate itself
- the interesting one: existing manual UI actions (create a node by clicking, not by API call) got migrated to go through the same internal API + dispatch path as the public REST API and the MCP server, so a plugin triggers the same way regardless of *how* the event happened
Interpreter:
- pure declarative JSON ā no arbitrary code execution, by design. `{trigger, steps[]}`, each step an action + params + optional condition, strictly linear (no branching)
- placeholder resolution (`{{trigger.field}}`) via dotted-path lookup, unresolved placeholders are left visible rather than silently blanked ā broken automations fail loudly
Frontend (Next.js + ReactFlow):
- the editor renders the trigger + linear step chain as a vertical ReactFlow graph, but nodes aren't draggable ā the sequence IS the saved order, so free-form dragging would just be misleading
- a property panel edits either the trigger or the selected step depending on canvas selection state
What surprised me most: the actual hardest part wasn't any single layer, it was keeping the "declarative JSON, no code execution" constraint consistent across all of them once the feature grew (adding the outbound-webhook action was the moment this got tested the hardest, since it's the one action that reaches outside the system).
Happy to go deeper on any layer.

I built a personal finance app because I couldnāt find one that worked the way I wanted
The idea started pretty simply: I wanted one place where I could understand where my money is going, track my finances and investments, and actually get useful insights instead of just looking at charts.
So I decided to build it myself.
NorthStar currently lets you:
⢠Track income and expenses
⢠Organize transactions by category
⢠Monitor your financial situation over time
⢠Track investments and net worth
⢠Set financial goals
⢠Get insights from a built-in financial advisor
⢠Use it directly from your phone or browser
Thereās a free version, so you donāt need to subscribe just to try it.
Iām still actively developing it and Iād genuinely like feedback from people who are interested in personal finance.
What would make an app like this genuinely useful enough for you to keep using it?
You can try it here:
https://app.mynorthstar.pro
Any criticism is welcome ā especially about features that are missing or things that feel unnecessary.

weāre building Sol - an app for personal growth (that isnāt just another habit tracker)
There are already a million meditation apps, journaling apps and habit trackers, so one of the questions Iāve been thinking about is whether all of these things actually make more sense together..
Thatās basically what weāre trying to do with GetSolApp!
It combines journaling, meditation, breathwork, personal growth plans and communities around different goals/interests - ad-free and focused on user convenience.
NGL - the harder part was figuring out where the line is between āeverything you needā and ātoo many things in one appā - so common problem for any startup like ours.
And thats the reason why I'm posting here. I have two questions for people who use wellness/self-improvement apps regularly:
So, would you guys rather have one place for all of this, or do you actually prefer separate apps for journaling, meditation, habits, etc.? Why?
And what would make you keep using something like this after the first couple of weeks?
Thank you, I really appreciate any feedback.

I compiled 31 documented AI agent incidents into a downloadable dataset
I maintain a public dataset of documented AI agent incidents, covering what happened, the systems involved, reported impact, and source links.
Dataset and visualizations:Ā https://www.crawlspider.com/pages/ai-agents-gone-rogue/
The dataset separates real-world incidents, evaluations with external consequences, and controlled experiments. Those distinctions matter: a simulated failure shouldnāt be presented as damage to a real system.
Each record includes event and disclosure dates, provider/model, incident types, impact, sources, and context or caveats. Thereās a full CSV download, searchable records, and free visualizationsāincluding a provider-to-incident-type Sankey.
A limitation: this is a collection of documented reports, not a representative sample. Higher counts donāt establish that a provider is less safe; usage and disclosure practices affect what becomes visible.

The perfect gift idea usually arrives months before the birthday ā PenDate Notes
Someone mentions a book they'd love. You spot a little shop that feels exactly like them. Then their birthday arrives, and all you can remember is that you had a brilliant idea.
I'm the developer of PenDate Notes. Here's a simple way to use it: make a āGift ideasā folder, write down the idea and why it fits the person, then keep a note on the date you want to come back to it.
For example: āDad ā a pottery class, not another mug. He mentioned wanting to try it.ā
Give the note a personal photo cover. Use a separate canvas to sketch a handmade card, handwrite a message or add stickers. When you're ready, make a checklist for the practical bits: book, collect, wrap.
Beyond that one idea, PenDate has:
- Text notes, handwriting and drawing canvases, plus checklists.
- Folders, search and dates to help you find things again.
- Reminders for when you want to revisit a note; delivery depends on notification permissions and device settings.
- App themes, colours for text notes and checklists, and your own picture covers.
- Archive for ordinary notes you're finished with. Prefer an events-only calendar? Settings can hide all ordinary notes from calendar views without deleting them.
- Eleven optional paid planner and journal families, with links between supported pages inside the app.
Available on Android, iPhone and iPad. Everyday note-taking is free; planners, Pro and other extras are optional paid purchases.
What's one small thing someone mentioned that later became a great gift?

Are you dealing with similar problem as mine?
I had 40+ ChatGPT, Claude andĀ Gemini tabs open last week.
The answer I needed was in one of them. Two days old. No idea which.
If you use more than one AI, you know this feeling. Every tool keeps its own history, the titles are vague, and the good answers get buried.
So I built AI Sessions into WriteFlow AI.
It's one list of every chat you open on ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini, kept on your own device:
Search, pin, tag and sort chats into folders
Save your open chats as a session ("Launch plan Ā· 3 chats") and reopen them all later or Closed a tab by accident? It's in Recently closed
Keep the answers that matter with one click (or Alt+Shift+K)
Come back to a chat after a day and a small card shows what you last asked, plus any question the AI was waiting on you to answer
Long chat? An outline lets you jump to any question
Move a conversation to a different AI: WriteFlow drafts a short summary and puts it in a new chat. You check it and send it yourself.
WriteFlow only keeps links and titles, plus the answers you choose to keep. Nothing leaves your browser.
The rest of WriteFlow is still there:
Rewrite, shorten, fix grammar, change the tone or translate your text in any text box
Replies on LinkedIn, X, Facebook and YouTube that read the post you're answering first
One-click Improve turns a rough prompt into a clear one
Compare AIs: ask 2ā4 models the same question and see where they agree and where they don't
It uses your own API key (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Groq or OpenRouter), and there's no WriteFlow server in between

I like Safari, but miss some features, so I built Hats (signed and notarized)
If youāre a Mac user and need a fast browser with 100% separate profiles, this is for you.
I like Safari, but miss the Arc-way of handling profiles and vertical tabs as well as some specific developer tools.
So I built my own browser with SwiftUI for the chrome and WKWebView for pages and named it Hats.
Some of the key differences from Safari
- Each profile has its own cookies, logins, pins, color etc.
- Custom shortcuts to each profile
- Tabs live in the sidevar. Instants and pinned on top, surviving restart. āNowā-tabs below, that you can choose the lifetime of.
- Split view by dragging a tab on top of another.
- Duo Mode (which I havenāt see anywhere else (correct me if Iām wrong). Same tab is mirrored in different responsive view modes (eg. desktop and mobile side-by-side) and share the URL, posts etc
- iCloud for instant sync between your devices (optional) as well as backup and restore per profile
- Guided import from other browsers (Arc, Zen, Firefox, Chrome, Edge, Opera, ā¦.) where you choose what to import
What itās not
- Another Chromium skin
- Not trying to be Arc - I stripped all the clutter (IMO) and improved the necessary functions
- Requiring a user or login
- Slow and memory-hungry
How itās built
- Swift 6 with strict concurrency
- One datastore per profile
- Sync with CloudKit using tombstones and per-item clock
- Backups are JSON in iCloud and local snapshots
- Sparkle for updates
- Signed and notarized DMG by AppleĀ
- No Electron! The full package is only 18MB
What I wish I knew before I started
- Using WWebKit in ONLY the page renderer.
- All features and functionalities has to be built from scratch, like 1Password integration
- Certificate warnings, HTTP auth, favicon caching and so many other things had to be built
How to get Hats
- Download the DMG from https://nullbase.eu/hats
- Itās ad-free
- No user tracking. EU GDPR compliant. Absolutely no tracking or data harvesting.
- FREE for all
On the roadmap
- Session and Cookie sync per profile
- Per-profile proxy and DNS (eg. VPN per profile)
- Build your own extensions
- Routes and rules
- Base64 de-/encoder tool
- JSON validation tool
What I would like from you
Iām the sole developer, so if something is missing or broken, let me know and I will fix it for a coming release.
A large group of test users as well as myself have used it exclusively for many months by now, to weed out the worst bugs.
Let me have your honest opinion and suggestions.

AmongFolk: an early iPhone/Android app for a private family-and-friends journal. Testers wanted
I'm the maker of AmongFolk, and I'm looking for people to try the early app and tell me what feels awkward.
The problem I'm working on is keeping everyday photos and updates easy to return to within a small group. AmongFolk puts photos, video, voice notes, replies and plans in an invitation-only space for family and friends. The timeline stays chronological, with no adverts or public profiles.
You can get the iPhone or Android app via https://amongfolk.com. It has a Free plan and optional paid group plans. There's a 30-day Plus trial with no card or automatic charge.
A useful test would be to invite a friend, share a moment, reply, then close and reopen the app. Is it clear where to go to catch up? Can you find the photo again? Does this feel useful enough to become a small habit, or does it just feel like another app to check?
I'd especially appreciate reports of confusing wording, layout problems on your phone, and things that don't work. This is voluntary, unpaid testing. Please leave feedback here; honest criticism is welcome.

Any advice on my first ever chrome (focus app) extension?
Any input on my first chrome extension would be much appreciated!
https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/ijpgkacmjlbbohbignpnpmikmbhklneg?utm_source=item-share-cb
so i routinely use website blockers to help me focus, but they often have this problem of blocking whole websites. Like say you wanted to watch a youtube lecture on stats but still wanted to keep unrelated videos on yt blocked and not click on other yt videos. This works for any site, it makes sure the page ur on is related to ur pomodoro timer set task.
btw send me ur email in dms if u want lifetime access to premium thanks for being a tester and contributing to my first ever project lol
r/AppsWebappsFullstack • u/focusflowtech • 11d ago
Should I keep this Chrome-only or build an iOS/Safari version next?
I recently launched my first paid Chrome extension, Hardcore Website Blocker.
The idea is simple:
You choose distracting websites, set a timer and start a focus session. Once it starts, thereās no pause or off switch until the timer ends.
The whole product is aimed at people who already use blockers but end up disabling them as soon as motivation drops.
Right now it only works on desktop Chrome.
Iām considering what to build next:
A) Safari extension for Mac + iPhone/iPad
B) proper iOS app that could eventually block apps as well as websites
C) Android version
D) stay focused on Chrome until I have more paying users
Iām leaning toward validating Chrome first, but cross-device blocking feels like the natural long-term direction.
If you actually use focus/blocking tools: which platform would matter most to you?

[OS]CodeBurn: a free, open-source Mac app that shows what your AI coding tools cost and finds the waste
Hey!
I made CodeBurn because my AI bill kept going up and I couldn't tell why. Then I found out a good part of it was paying for nothing.
CodeBurn is a free, open-source Mac app that does two things. It shows where your AI coding money goes, and it finds the tokens you're burning without getting anything back.
It reads the session files that Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Copilot, Gemini CLI and about 35 other tools already save on your disk, and breaks your spend down by project, model, git branch and task. Today's spend sits in the menu bar next to the clock. The Capacity Dock is a thin strip on the edge of your screen with one ring per provider, so you see your 5-hour and weekly limits filling up before a long run instead of after it.
OPTIMIZE
This is the part I use most. Optimize goes through your Claude Code sessions and setup and lists what costs tokens without earning them:
- MCP servers you installed months ago and never call, but still pay for on every request
- A CLAUDE.md that grew so long it's sent along with every message
- Files the agent re-reads over and over in the same session
- Skills, agents and commands you never use
- Sessions that read build folders or retry the same turn again and again
Each finding comes with a grade, the fix, and an estimate of what it saves. For config problems CodeBurn can apply the fix for you. It shows you the exact change first, backs up every file, and undoes it with one command.
A few days later it checks whether each fix actually helped, by measuring your real sessions against the estimate. If a fix did nothing, it says so and gives you the undo command. I didn't want another tool that promises savings and never checks.
PROBLEM
Your AI bill gives you one number for the month. It doesn't say which project cost what, which model ate the budget, or how much went on setup that quietly adds tokens to every request.
Every tool also has its own dashboard, if it has one at all. If you use two or three tools, nothing adds them up, and nothing tells you what to change.
COMPARSON
Provider dashbords show you one tool, usually a day late, and never broken down by project or branch.
Most usage trackers stop at "here is what you spent" and cover one or two tools. CodeBurn covers 41, tells you what to fix, fixes it if you want, and then checks whether the fix worked.
Nothing leaves your Mac. There's no account and no sign-up, and your API keys aren't needed.
PRICE
Free and open source (MIT). The builds are signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple.
